Are you ready to meditate with Cori?
Climb up into your bed and get super,
Super comfortable.
Make sure that everything is just right in your room.
The lights are just right.
You're wearing your cosy,
Comfy pyjamas.
And all is well in the world.
So that you can relax your body.
And let go of your busy,
Busy day.
Heidi,
Cherry and Vea were at Isla's house.
Well,
Isla's grandma's house.
They were visiting Isla's grandma.
Isla's grandma is hilarious.
She's so funny.
She always wears an apron,
Even if she's not cooking.
And she has these funny,
Fluffy slippers that she wears.
And she always wears woolly socks.
And her legs are super hairy.
And Cherry thinks it's hilarious.
Actually,
She thinks that there's like,
You know,
That's her goal when she gets older.
To be just like Isla's grandma.
Because Isla's grandma does not care at all what people think.
She's very outspoken.
She's very set in her ways.
She's 83 years old.
And,
You know,
She's barely got any teeth left.
Which makes her look very funny when she's chewing.
Because she can't chew very much with her teeth.
But,
Anyway,
You can imagine what Isla's grandma looks like.
Isla's grandma had bought Isla a pair of socks.
She was trying to convince her that she had to wear them for her school dance.
And Isla was not having it.
Grandma,
I can't.
They won't go with my dress,
She said.
Cherry said,
OMG.
Gran,
Back off.
She can't wear them socks.
They look just like yours.
And,
I mean,
I love your socks.
I think they're the best socks in the world.
I'd wear them,
Vea said.
No offence,
Grandma,
But I would not wear those socks with my dresses.
Definitely not.
Isla said,
Thanks,
Vea.
Exactly.
Heidi said,
Yeah,
They don't really go.
Especially with the flat pumps that she's wearing.
Definitely not.
Cherry said,
What you so adamant about it for anyway,
Grandma?
I mean,
Look,
Those socks are blue.
Blue wool socks.
She's wearing a pink dress.
She's going to look like,
Well,
You know,
Everybody's going to laugh at her.
Isla's grandma said,
Who cares if they laugh?
Who cares?
Be different.
You don't have to be like everybody else.
Do your own thing.
Call your own song.
Just be you.
Look at me.
I love my socks.
And I'm telling you,
These socks are very special.
They're going to do a world of good for you.
They're going to keep your feet warm.
And they might even do a little bit of magic.
You might get that boy you like at school to look at you.
Cherry said,
Hold on a minute.
Which boy?
Are you keeping boyfriends?
Secret from us,
Isla.
Isla just blushed and said,
No.
I don't have a boyfriend.
Grandma.
Grandma chuckled.
I knew that would wind you up,
She said.
Anyway,
Take the socks with you at least.
Promise me that.
And maybe halfway through the night,
When they turn the lights down a little bit lower at the school dance,
Put the socks on.
Promise me.
Because I know something about these socks.
And I think that you'll never be the same if you wear these socks for your dance.
Isla was a little bit intrigued by what her grandma was saying about the socks.
But she still definitely was not going into the school dance wearing those socks.
But as part of her outfit,
She was taking a really cute clutch bag that was pink.
She could put the socks in there.
It wouldn't kill her to make her grandma happy.
I mean,
She's 83.
She's a pain in the bum,
But she's 83.
It's not like she's going to live another 50 years or anything.
Let's make her happy while she's here.
Thought Isla.
So she said to her grandma,
OK,
OK,
I promise at some point in the night I will put on these socks.
Her grandma had the biggest smile.
Trust me.
It's going to be a life changer.
Cherry said,
Yeah,
Yeah,
Yeah.
Whatever,
Granny.
Yeah,
Whatever.
They visited with grandma for quite some time.
They had a cup of tea and a scone with their grandma.
The scone had fresh cream and jam on it.
The cats thought they were delicious.
Isla was used to them because her grandma had always cooked scones.
She made the best scones.
So there wasn't anything special about them to her,
Except she loved them,
Obviously.
But the cats really,
Really liked the scones.
After a while,
Though,
They all went back to Isla's house to help her get ready for the school dance.
Heidi,
Cherry and Vea couldn't go with her to the school dance.
No cats allowed,
Unfortunately.
But they helped her get ready.
And they made sure that she had her grandma's socks.
The blue woolly ones that were not going to look good with her outfit.
When Isla walked into the big dance hall,
She was very impressed.
There were streamers and balloons and there were signs.
School dance signs everywhere.
Everybody was dressed super cool.
And everybody was so excited because,
I mean,
It was a party,
It was a dance.
All the boys looked really smart and the girls looked really fancy in their dresses.
Not everyone,
But some of them had,
Like,
Headbands that were flowery.
Some of them had those,
Is it a croissage?
The ones that you wear around your wrist.
Some of the boys had suits on with bow ties.
And some just wore,
Like,
Pants and shirts.
As long as you looked smart,
You could basically wear whatever you wanted.
And everybody looked super smart.
But you could express your fashion through your clothing.
And that's what Isla was kind of worried about.
What would they think of her blue woolly socks that grandma wanted her to wear?
It did get darker during the evening.
The lights got lower.
Isla decided she was going to keep her promise to her grandma.
So she put her socks on and then slipped her shoes back on.
And then her favourite song come on.
Oh,
She needed to dance.
But she didn't just need to dance like a normal feeling.
She was like,
What?
I cannot sit down.
I have to dance to this song right now.
She grabbed her friend,
Rachel.
Come on,
We've got to dance.
They went onto the dance floor and started dancing.
Isla can dance,
But not like this.
She looked like something off one of those dance competitions.
She was doing some impressive moves,
Rachel said.
Why did you learn all that?
Isla said,
I have no clue.
Look at me go.
She was doing all sorts.
She could do the Michael Jackson thing where he slides backwards.
She could do like hip hop moves.
She's never gone to a hip hop class in her life.
She could do all sorts of stuff.
And she could really,
Really groove.
I mean,
Like every song that came on.
But the problem was she couldn't sit down.
She kept saying to Rachel.
I can't stop dancing.
It's like the bestest feeling ever.
I'm so happy.
Rachel said,
I have to sit down.
I'm pooped.
I can't keep dancing.
I'm tired.
Isla said,
Grab Sophie.
She'll probably dance with me.
Rachel sat down and swapped places with Sophie.
And then Sophie started dancing with Isla.
Sophie had some seriously good moves of her own.
But they weren't anything like Isla's moves.
They were just so impressive.
By now,
Isla had started to get quite a lot of attention.
She felt really good about it.
This is awesome.
This is like the bestest thing ever.
And someone said,
Isla,
Love your socks.
She remembered she'd got her grandma's socks on.
And someone actually liked them.
Oh,
Thanks,
She said,
Mid-dance move.
By now,
There was a circle around her and they were all clapping.
Isla noticed Ryan.
She smiled and he smiled.
He came into the middle at one point and danced with her a little bit.
And then he moved away.
But it was really,
Really fun.
Ryan danced with me.
Wait till I tell Heidi,
Cherry and Bea.
Oh,
Wait,
I can't.
They don't think I like anybody at the moment.
I'll keep it to myself.
She blushed and carried on dancing.
She danced and danced and danced and danced and danced.
Until eventually,
Her legs were so heavy and so tired,
Yet she still couldn't stop dancing.
She thought,
What do I do?
What do I do?
What do I do?
Isla,
All of a sudden,
Realised that there might be something about grandma's socks.
Grandma said that they were life-changing.
She said that they were quite magical,
I think.
I think that's what she said.
She said that I should definitely wear them.
That's when Isla reached down,
Kicked off her socks and her shoes and stood there on the dance floor,
Barefoot,
And actually stopped dancing.
Oh my gosh,
She thought.
And then she thought,
OMG!
That's what Cherry would say.
The socks,
The socks are magical.
She quickly bent down and picked up her grandma's socks and stuffed them in her pink clutch bag.
She definitely wasn't going to lose those.
She slipped on her shoes,
Went over to the punch table and drank three cups of punch.
She was absolutely parched.
Her mouth was like a desert,
She'd danced so much.
That was so,
So fun,
She thought to herself.
I'm keeping these socks forever.
Isla had the bestest time at the school dance.
The following week,
When she saw the cats,
She told them all about it.
Cherry said,
OMG!
Your grandma's like the bestest thing in the entire world.
Vea said,
OMG!
I wish I would have had some socks now.

Great! First to listen and review! Story Time! The boy and rhe thunderstorm. Max sternly shoved Cloe-Fluffy to the side and grabbed his sheets. He started tying them together and hung them out the window. He climbed threw the window then remembered that his dad would be doing garden work. Max quickly climbed back inside his bedroom and looked at his watch. He gratefully said " Phew! It's only 12:38pm and dad finishes garden work at 3:00pm. That means that. Gasp!" Max's face lit up " We only need to wait 2 hours and 30 minutes until dad finishes garden work!" Cloe-Fluffy asked " Why does it matter if your dad is doing garden work or not when you esc- Oooh! I get it. You're dad will dig a hole and ground you in it." Max frowned and replied " No. My dad will catch me and I will not get buried. He will ground me, right here, right in this very room, for even longer." Cloe then said " Please, call me Cloe." Max said "OK." 1 hour later they wher playing a game of chess. ,ax checked the watch and said " Right now it's 1:30 so an hour and a half till I escape. Oh! By the way, check!" Cloe asked " When is your mum bringing another sandwich. I'm hungry." Max sadly said " Oh wait! We can't escape then! My mum brings sandwiches at breakfast wich is 6:00AM, lunch wich is 12:00PM and dinner wich is 5:00PM!" To be continued...
