Are you ready to meditate with Kari?

Are you ready to be super super still and quiet as you listen to the story?

Let your body relax and get heavy in your bed and slow down your world.

Heidi,

Cherry and Veo were sat in their bedroom talking about what they were going to do for Thanksgiving.

Thanksgiving was only a couple of weeks away and they always had some kind of big Thanksgiving dinner.

They did the whole beans and mushroom soup thing.

They did the whole like not turkey thing because they didn't do turkeys for Thanksgiving because that wasn't what they wanted to do and you know it was like how do we do something different?

Heidi had an idea.

How about we all get out our journals and we sit and we talk about the things that we're thankful for and that way we'll see when we've made the list some of the things that we should focus on on Thanksgiving Day.

Let's make it more about what we're actually thankful for rather than the food.

Cherry said,

Oh I like that.

Yeah I really like that idea.

That's so nice.

That's so nice Heidi.

That's so nice.

That feels very conscious.

Is that the right word?

Conscious.

Heidi said,

Yeah I think so.

Cherry said,

Yeah conscious.

Feels very conscious and you know you know I would like that too.

I'm going to get my journal,

I'm going to get my purple journal because that's my favourite and I'm going to get the pen,

That pink one that I have with all the glitter inside that moves around when you're writing it.

I'm going to do that right now.

Cherry got up and went to get her purple journal with the glittery pink pen that was her favourite at the moment.

Heidi had a journal that was just brown.

From the outside of the journal it looked like a really old,

Old book.

Like a really good book that you would find in a secret old bookstore somewhere at the end of the world.

That's why she liked it.

And Veier had a princess journal and on each page it had a different picture of a different princess that you could actually write over.

So the picture was in the lines of the journal and you could just kind of write over it.

It was in the background if that makes sense.

That was her favourite journal at the moment.

All three of the cats sat down on the rug in their bedroom and started to make a list of all the things that they were grateful for.

I like the sky,

Said Cherry.

Really grateful for the sky.

The sky is like so awesome.

You can do so many things in the sky.

You can fly in the sky.

You can like jump up into the sky.

You can lay on the grass and watch the clouds.

You can talk to the sky as if the sky has got all your friends in it.

Because I know that's what I do a lot.

I lay on the grass and I go,

Hello sky.

All the friends up there in the sky,

Beyond the sky,

Beyond the stars,

Beyond everything.

Hello guys,

How are you doing today?

I was wondering if you could help me out.

That's what I do.

I lay down on the grass and I talk to the sky.

And then I always seem to get what I want because the sky listens,

You know.

That's why I really like the sky.

So I am grateful for the sky.

It's going on the top of my list.

Heidi said,

I think I'm most grateful for my eyes because my eyes give me the chance to see.

And when I see,

I can read.

And when I read,

I can learn.

And when I learn,

I can get smart.

And when I get smart,

I can help people when I'm smart because I can share my wisdom from all the books that I read because I have these wonderful eyes.

And I get to see you and Vea every day.

Cherry said,

Oh,

That's so nice.

Vea said,

I really like that Heidi.

That's so conscious.

Yeah,

Very conscious.

I think my top thing is family.

I'm very grateful for my family.

And then my second thing is anything to do with princesses,

Obviously.

I think I've been thinking about it.

I don't really think it's just princesses.

I think I'm in love with the fairy tale.

I'm so grateful for fairy tales.

I like all things magical,

Cherry said.

You know,

Come to think of it,

I think I like everything adventurous.

Anything to do with adventure.

You like anything to do with fairy tale and magic.

I like anything to do with adventure that's fun and dangerous and brave and all those things.

What do you like,

Heidi?

Heidi said,

I think it would be educational.

I like anything to do with learning.

Becoming more aware of things.

Obviously,

Books do that,

Don't they?

But there's so many other things that you can do to get yourself educated.

You can watch videos,

You can do classes,

You can take courses,

You can do podcasts.

There's so many cool things that you can do today.

But I think educational is my favourite,

Cherry said.

Right,

So then think about it.

I'm grateful for anything to do with adventure.

Vea is grateful for anything to do with fairy tale and you are grateful to do with anything to do with education.

So that means,

Right,

That if we put those three things together,

We could probably make a really cool story about Thanksgiving and being grateful.

How would we start?

Vea said,

I think it would be really fun if we did like just an outright,

Like impromptu story and we just like,

And then maybe we could write it down later and make a book from it and draw pictures for it and everything like that.

That would be so fun.

But yes,

Like a prompt to story.

I can start.

Cherry said,

Right,

Go on then.

Wait a minute,

Wait a minute.

Let me get me boogie box.

I'll put a tape in and I'll record it and then and then we won't forget anything and then we'll have it as prompt to Thanksgiving story recorded forever in a day and then we can make a book from it.

Like you said,

That's such a cool idea.

And then what we could probably do is send that book to all our friends because then they would know what to do for Thanksgiving.

Vea said,

Okay,

Right,

Ready,

Ready,

Um,

Once upon a time,

A long,

Long time ago,

There was a tiny little,

Um,

Um,

Cherry said,

Hamster.

Vea said,

Okay,

There was a long time,

No,

There was a,

Wait a minute.

Let me start again.

Once upon a time,

A long,

Long time ago in a far away land,

There was a hamster,

A hamster called Sir Hamsterlot.

Cherry went.

I like that.

I like that.

That's really good.

Yeah.

Yeah.

Anyway,

My turn.

Sir Hamsterlot,

Sir Hamsterlot,

Sir Hamsterlot was walking through the forest and he saw a rope in front of him and he was walking towards the rope going,

What is that?

OMG.

I wonder what that rope is for and I wonder what that rope does.

I'm very adventurous.

I am and therefore I'm going to just grab a hold of this rope and I'm going to swing on it and I'm going to see where it takes me.

Heidi said,

Sir Hamsterlot was swinging through the trees on the long rope when all of a sudden he banged into a tree,

Fell on the ground and heard a very loud creak.

He sat up and shook his little hamster head and looked around at where he heard the creak coming from.

The creaky noise was actually coming from a tree that he'd banged into.

When he banged into the tree,

He'd landed on a secret button that opened a door into the tree trunk.

Faea said,

OMG this is so good.

Faea said,

My turn.

Sir Hamsterlot walked over to the tree and peered inside the doorway.

It was very dark and it was full of cobwebs but then he noticed just to the left there was a long cord.

He pulled the cord and a light turned on inside of the tree trunk.

It was fairy lights.

They were twinkling and it looked like a very pretty,

Pretty tunnel.

He decided he wasn't scared at all and he was going to go into the tunnel.

Maybe there was something magical.

Maybe there was a fairy tale just waiting for him.

He'd been very lonely and he was looking for his princess.

Cherry said,

My turn.

He got inside of the tree,

Right?

He got inside of the tree and he started to walk down the very long,

Long tunnel that was lit with fairy lights and he was thinking to himself,

Wow this is super cool.

Maybe there's an adventure waiting for me at the end of this tunnel.

I like adventures.

I wonder if there's something like a.

.

.

Oh I don't know.

Like a super,

Super,

Super long,

Long slide that I have to go down and then when I go down it I turn into a prince.

Heidi said,

Sir Hamster-a-lot got to the end of the tunnel and there in front of him was a very long slide.

The slide looked very adventurous and it was lit up with all different rainbow coloured lights.

He sat at the top of the slide and started to go down it thinking,

Wow this is really good.

I wonder what I'll learn by going down this slide.

Maybe I'll learn that I shouldn't just go down a slide or maybe I'll learn that this slide could take me into a new world.

This slide could make me into a new person.

And just as Sir Hamster-a-lot was thinking that,

He got a very funny feeling in his head and his head started spinning really fast and he thought it was the slide but it wasn't the slide.

It was him turning into a prince.

Bump!

Svea said,

The prince,

Sir Hamster-a-lot was actually at the bottom of the slide.

He looked around and he found himself in the depths of a very dark,

Dark dungeon looking castle.

He was in the basement of the castle in the dungeon part where a long time ago people would put prisoners in there.

Sometimes they would put princesses in there if the princesses were not behaving.

Sometimes princesses just like Sir Hamster-a-lot would save them from the horrible,

Horrible step queen at the top of the tower.

Sir Hamster-a-lot could hear crying,

Oh my goodness me!

Would my prince come and save me?

I'm so lost in this dungeon and I'm all alone and it's dark and I'm cold and I'm hungry.

Cherry bursted in.

Sir Hamster-a-lot the brave found a big stick on the floor and he decided that he was going to just bash anything that came into his way.

So he was like bashing the walls and bashing the floor and bashing the ceiling with his big giant stick and he was wondering what was making that awful noise.

Heidi said there was a poor princess that had been trapped in the dungeon for 10,

000 years.

10,

000 years is a lot of days.

10,

000 years is,

I don't know how many days that is.

Maybe the princess had been taking note of her days and she'd put lines on the dungeon wall and we could add them up because that's very educational.

Counting up all the lines to see how many years.

10,

000 years,

20,

000 years she was a very old princess.

They said but hmm this is a magical story and it's a very magical,

Magical fairy tale and the princess never grows old and she's so very grateful for that.

The prince,

Prince Sir Sir Hamelot is very grateful that he has finally found his princess and they look at each other and then they kiss and take a big sloppy,

Sloppy kiss together and it's very long,

Cherry says.

And it's gross because the prince needs to be on an adventure and he's so grateful that he's adventurous so he decides to stop sloppy kissing the princess and he decides to throw her over his shoulder in like a fireman's lift and then he finds a rope on the ground and he straps the princess to him because he knows that if he goes through a swamp or something like that he might lose his princess.

So then he carries on walking through the dungeon and he sees a light shining over on the right wall so he goes over to the light and then he goes,

Hello light,

Yeah you light,

What have you got to offer for me?

What kind of adventure have you got because I'm so grateful for my adventures.

The light doesn't say anything said Heidi,

The light is a doorway into a library,

Oh no said Cherry,

Heidi said it's my turn,

The light is a door so he goes through the door and he finds himself in a very big library.

He puts the princess down on a library chair and she gets all comfortable and he says to her would you like a book,

I'm so grateful for books in my life,

I love books,

They're just the best.

The princess says oh I'd love a book,

Thank you so much,

I like pictures,

I'm so grateful for pictures.

Sir Hamelot goes off and finds a very beautiful princess book with very nice pictures in it for the princess,

He gives her the book and then he decides to find a book that would tell you how many days is in a year and how many days is times 10,

000 years and then he would be able to do the math because math is very interesting to him because he likes education,

He's very grateful for his education.

The library says after the prince finds out how many days are in 10,

000 billion trillion years and he's bored with that he decides that it's time to leave the library.

So he gets his princess and he throws her over his shoulder and he wraps his rope around because he's ready for an adventure because he's very grateful for his adventures and then he leaves the library and he sees a chute that looks like a slide,

Another slide that's going down and down and down and down.

He jumps on the slide and he says woo hoo let's go on an adventure,

I love adventures.

When he gets to the bottom he finds himself in a big dining hall and in that dining hall there's a very big table and on that very big table there's every type of food that you could possibly eat and he goes oh my goodness gracious me,

Thanksgiving dinner and he sits at the table and he unstraps the rope and he puts the princess down next to him and he goes oh golly what an adventurous day,

I'm ravinish,

I could really eat thanksgiving dinner right now,

I'm so grateful for thanksgiving dinner,

I'm grateful for them beans and that mushroomy soupy thing with the onions on top,

I'm grateful for my carrots,

I'm grateful,

Oh I'm very grateful for my mashed potatoes,

Heidi said and he's also very grateful for the gravy,

He really likes gravy,

Do you know how to make gravy,

It's quite an education,

Cherry says oh shut up about your educational things,

I think we're done with the story,

It was awesome,

Leah said and then finally at the end the prince and the princess live happily ever after.

The end.

Everyone rolls around laughing on the floor,

That was a really good story said Heidi,

Cherry said I know right we should do that more often,

It was so much fun,

I'm really going to enjoy writing it down and making a book out of it and drawing like really fun pictures to go with each part of the story,

Can you imagine,

It's going to be so fun,

Leah said me really enjoyed that,

That was the best,

I think we should like try and do something like that for Thanksgiving but I also think we should definitely have a Thanksgiving dinner,

I really like mashed potatoes too,

Mashed potatoes and gravy are the best,

They all agreed that mashed potatoes and gravy were the best,

They were feeling quite hungry but it was too late for food,

It was time to go to bed,

They put their journals away,

They put the tape recorder somewhere safe so that they could listen to it and write down all of the story in detail,

They got into bed and Cherry said no seriously I'm really grateful for you guys,

You're my bestest Thanksgiving present ever,

They all had a big hug,

Snuggled in together and eventually fell fast asleep,

Very grateful and very very happy that they had each other.

The end.
