In this short guided meditation, shift your mood to happiness by recalling a joyful memory. Close your eyes, take a deep breath, and bring to mind a moment that made you feel truly happy. See it, feel it, and immerse yourself in the warmth of that experience. Then with a little added Cory magic, we can have this feeling whenever we need it! Hello,

My name is Kari.

Let's meditate together,

Shall we?

Sit down in a comfortable seated position.

Rest your hands on your knees or your lap.

Straighten your spine.

Close down your eyes and start to slow down your breathing.

Feel into where your body is at.

Notice if your body feels awake,

Still sleepy,

Tired,

Heavy,

Light,

Energized.

Where's your body at?

Don't try and change the state of your body.

Just be aware,

An observer.

And then notice the sensations of what's going on in your emotions.

Sometimes this is a little bit more difficult for some people but what feelings are present in your body at this time?

Do you feel happy?

Do you feel anxious?

Do you feel sad?

Can you recognize any kind of feeling in your body at the moment?

Let's see if we can change the direction of the feelings in your body to suit us this morning.

We can do this by initiating some imagination or some memory.

So what I'd like you to do is just sit and think about a time in your past where you were very,

Very happy.

Super excited maybe about something,

Joyful,

Happy,

Just really,

Really happy.

Some event or something that happened,

Maybe it was even just something that somebody said to you that made you feel this way.

Whatever it is,

Let your memory play and go back to a time just like that and let it start to come to the forefront of your mind.

Let that memory come to the forefront so that you can start to see it in your mind.

And when you see it in your mind,

Start to relive it.

Allow your face to smile.

Allow your body to start to feel the feelings of that happiness.

Maybe you feel lighter,

You can feel your body expanding,

Your chest rising and expanding.

Maybe you can feel things going on in your stomach,

Butterflies,

Or maybe your tummy feels open and expansive.

Normally,

Generally,

With a feeling of joy and happiness,

We start to feel light,

As if we're filling with bubbles.

We feel light,

More open,

Our shoulders go back a little bit,

Our head lifts up a little bit,

Everything gets lighter.

Let your body feel that lightness.

Keep thinking about that memory,

The happy,

Happy memory.

And let your body react to it,

Relive it as much as it can.

If you can include sensations,

Feelings,

Like actual feelings,

Maybe you touched something,

Or you smelt something,

Or you tasted something in this memory.

Bring it all to life as much as you can with your senses.

And then imagine that all of these feelings and sensations can be present in your body whenever you need them.

And we can do this by imagining that we have a little treasure chest there in front of us,

In our mind.

The box can be a trinket box,

Or a big chest,

Whatever your imagination wants it to be.

In your mind,

See yourself opening your box.

And imagine that this happy feeling,

You can kind of draw out of you.

Pull it out as if you're taking off a jacket,

Or pulling it out of your body like taffy,

Or an energy that you can manipulate.

Imagine it,

Maybe it's bright golden yellow,

And you're pulling it out of your body,

Just using your hands to siphon it out,

Pull it out,

And pour it into your trinket box,

This happy,

Happy feeling.

Get as much out of your body as you feel necessary.

And then close up the box.

Seal it in.

And imagine that you can put the box in your pocket.

Maybe you have a pocket on your jacket,

Or a pocket on your jeans.

Use your imagination.

Put the box,

Shrink it down,

And put it in your pocket for safekeeping.

And now today,

Or any other day,

When you need to feel this happiness,

All you have to do is take the little box out of your pocket,

Open it up,

And let that golden yellow happiness just be absorbed straight back into your system.

As if you're turning on a switch,

And you allow that happy feeling back into your body.

And as soon as you do,

You start to feel that light,

Open,

Expansive,

Bubbling kind of energy once again.

Whenever you need it,

It's right there at your fingertips.

And so it is.

Namaste,

My friend.
