Are you ready to meditate with Kori?
Make sure that you're super comfortable in your bed,
The light is just right,
You're wearing your comfortableest pajamas and you're ready to relax your body and let go of your busy day.
Koriander was at her grandma's house.
She loved being at her grandma's house.
A grandma had a lake house.
It had lots and lots of long tall glass windows and you could stand at the window and watch the lake,
It was that close.
You could see the sun reflecting off the lake or you could see the rain pounding on the lake.
There was something about the water that felt really calming and special to Koriander.
Her grandma was just the best.
She had a whole wall of jars,
Jars with all sorts of things inside of them.
Jars with tinctures and teas and herbs and spices.
She had lots of things in the jars that were good for you like mushrooms and different protein powders,
Mocha powder and ashwagandha.
There was ginger root,
Turmeric,
Rose petals,
Dried coriander,
Dried rosemary,
Cinnamon,
Black pepper.
You name it.
She had a jar with a label on it and it was always written on the front what was inside of the jar.
The jars took up a whole wall in grandma's kitchen.
Koriander woke up that morning and decided she needed to make a spell.
A spell that would help her get more money.
She needed more money because she wanted to buy herself a travel bag.
She noticed this time when she came to her grandma's house that her travel bag,
Her suitcase was pretty bleh and she wanted a suitcase that had a cat's face on the front.
It was so cute and awesome and she loved it and she fell in love with it and her mum said that she didn't need it because she already had a suitcase so she decided she was going to make the money and buy her own suitcase.
Hence she needed a spell that would make her get more money.
An abundance spell.
A spell when you put out there to the universe that you need cash desperately please for a new cool suitcase.
Luckily for Koriander her grandma was a little bit of a witchy poo herself.
Hence all the jars with all the goodies inside.
But again her grandma was the kind of witch that used things from the earth.
They would never make bad spells.
They only ever made healing spells.
Spells that were good for you.
Spells that created good energy,
Positivity,
Good things in the world.
Never bad scary spells like you would think a witch would make.
Her grandma was like herself more of a green witch.
That's when they use herbs and spices and plants from the earth and they set intentions on them and then things happen.
She asked her grandma what she needed for a spell that would help her make some money.
Money please grandma I need more cash.
Her grandma started laughing.
Don't we all?
She said.
Okay.
Said grandma well think about your different ingredients and what the ingredients do,
What their properties are and how that will help your spell to come true.
Grandma stared at the big huge wall with all the jars.
The first thing she picked was cinnamon.
I remember cinnamon from another spell that we did grandma she said.
Cinnamon makes things come quickly.
Cinnamon has got some heat,
Some spice.
It's good right grandma?
I should do cinnamon if I want my money to come quick.
Grandma nodded but then she said this is your spell dear.
You put in it what you think.
Mmmmmm said coriander.
She'd already put the cinnamon jar on the island.
That was the counter in the middle of the kitchen and then she started to stare at all the different jars again.
Mmmmmm.
I want my money to be happy she thought.
Being fresh and clean I don't want my money to be heavy.
I want it to be happy bouncy money that comes to me with joy.
And that's when she noticed the orange and the lemon peels that have been dried.
She remembers her grandma said you can always dry your orange peel you know.
Never throw it away.
Just peel your orange and then dry it in the sun and then chop it up and save it in a jar.
It's so good in tea and it's used for so many different spells.
Orange and lemon peel definitely she thought.
She put the jars on the island and then started to stare at the wall once again.
She noticed the coffee grinds.
Coffee coffee's bold and adventurous.
It smells strong.
It makes you wake up when you smell it she thought.
That's gonna wake up my money vibes.
That's gonna wake up my money energy.
She reached for the coffee and put it on the island.
One more thing she thought.
One more thing.
Mmmmmm.
And then she spotted the rose petals.
Rose petals always smell so good and always made her think of love.
Do I need love in my money?
She thought to herself.
Do I need the energy of love?
And then she thought about the properties of rose petals like her grandma had said.
Think about the properties of your ingredients.
She could hear her words in her mind.
Properties of rose petals.
Mmmmmm.
They're so nurturing.
So gentle.
So loving and soothing.
She always makes rose petal tea if she wants to drink something that makes her feel all yummy and cuddly inside.
I want my money to be loving and kind and cuddly she thought.
Definitely because that makes me smile.
And if I smile my money will come so much quicker.
Grandma had always told her if you're manifesting anything,
If you're making a spell,
If you're creating a wish,
If you're doing magic,
Make sure that you're happy and you're smiling and you're joyful when you make your spells.
And then that energy gets stirred into the tincture.
Stirred into the mixture.
It will make it so much more powerful she said.
Definitely rose petals.
She lined up the ingredients on the island and then she reached for the pestle and mortar off a very high shelf in her grandma's kitchen.
She had to get a chair.
She was very careful.
She held onto the wall as she reached up.
The pestle and mortar was a bowl with a stick,
Like a big clumpy stick inside.
It was a wooden bowl and a wooden stick.
And inside of the bowl the sides were quite rough,
Like sandpaper.
So that when you put the ingredients to make your spell and grind them up and mix them together like a potion,
All the ingredients would grind down to a powder.
That's what you use the pestle and mortar for.
But you also use the pestle and mortar to put your intention into your spell.
I make my spell with love.
I see my money coming quickly to me.
All happy and jolly to be with me.
I see my money buying me the suitcase I want.
And I'm so happy and grateful.
I see my money running with sneakers.
Like you're running on a track at school.
It's coming so fast.
I'm definitely going to get my suitcase and when I do I'll be so happy.
These were the type of thoughts that Coriander was thinking as she stirred and grinded away at the ingredients.
The coffee,
The orange peel,
The cinnamon and the rose petals.
It smelled so good.
It was a really good combination.
She had a good feeling about it.
Not only did it smell good but just the smell of it made her feel good inside.
It brought her a reassurance.
You know when you take a big whiff of something and it smells really yummy and you're like ooh that smells good and it makes your body feel good inside?
That's what this spell was doing.
She knew that that was a good sign.
She could hear her grandma saying it even though her grandma wasn't even in the kitchen.
Oh yes that's going to be a powerful spell my girl.
When she finished she undid the necklace that she had around her neck.
It was a silver necklace with a glass bottle and a silver stopper inside of it.
It was a potion bottle.
She started to pick up some of the ground ingredients.
She picked it up with the tips of her fingers and as she did so she imagined all of her smiles and all of her joy bursting out the tips of her fingers into her spell's ingredients.
Just an extra step she thought.
Just in case my magic potion wasn't happy enough just yet.
Each little pinch she carefully sprinkled it into her glass vial that she was going to wear around her neck and every time she touched it or saw it in the mirror she would imagine the money speeding its way towards her.
All happy and bouncy and joyful and full of love ready to be turned into a suitcase.
When she'd filled the vial up she put the silver stopper on top and then fastened it back around her neck.
The rest of the potion that was still left she put into a bigger glass jar.
She got out a label from the drawer in the kitchen and she wrote with a black marker on it,
Money potion.
And then she put the jar on grandma's shelf along with all the other magical tinctures and herbs and spices.
She felt very proud of herself and very excited.
She reached up with her left hand and touched the glass vial around her neck.
She wasn't sure if she was imagining it or whether it was actually real but she almost felt it buzzing and pulsing as if it was alive.
As if the magic was already happening.
Then to seal the spell she lit her candle.
She stared at the flame and then closed her eyes and said to herself in a very reassuring determined voice,
And so it is.
She opened up her eyes and blew out the candle as if to seal the deal.
It's done and so it is.
Two weeks later a card came in the mail.
She'd already gone home.
She'd gone back to her house.
A mum said to her when she came in from school,
A card came for you today.
The envelope's over there on the kitchen counter.
Oh,
Said Coriander,
It wasn't her birthday.
No one else ever sent her letters.
Sometimes she got birthday cards or Christmas cards but that's about it.
She went over to the envelope and it just said her name and address on the front.
It didn't have a return address so she didn't know who it was from at this point.
And then she opened it up and inside was a $50 bill,
A $50 bill.
She almost fainted.
Mum,
She shouted.
Mum,
Look at this.
The mum ran over.
At first she thought she was frightened or scared or something bad had happened and then she realised when Coriander was jumping around screaming and shouting and laughing with a smiley face rather than a hurt face or a scared face.
What is it?
Her mum said.
Aunt Sally,
She sent me $50 for my birthday.
I thought she forgot my birthday.
Oh,
That Aunt Sally,
She's so sweet,
Said Coriander's mum.
Sweet?
Now I can get my suitcase with the cat face on.
Yay!
Said Coriander.
Her mum said,
Wow,
You and Grandma were definitely doing some serious magic when you went to visit,
Right?
Coriander smiled and her mum winked at her.
Well done,
Sweetie.
You made it happen,
Whatever you did.
Coriander was so pleased and so impressed with herself.
She reached up and grabbed the vial and brought it up to her lips and kissed it over and over again.
Thank you,
Thank you,
Thank you,
Thank you,
Thank you,
She said.
She was very grateful,
Very grateful.
They called Aunt Sally and gave her big thank yous and kisses and hugs down the phone.
She told her what she was going to do with the money and Aunt Sally approved.
She thought those suitcases were super cute also.
And then straight after that call,
She called Grandma and told her all about what had happened.
Grandma said,
Well done,
Well done,
Coriander.
My little witch,
I think you're going to end up being better than your Grandma.
That's the fastest turnaround I've ever seen on a money spell,
She said.
The end.
