Good morning my friend.
Take a seat and get comfortable.
Straighten your spine.
Relax your hands down on your knees.
Soften your jaw.
Close down your eyes if you haven't done so already.
And start to breathe in a nice slow pace.
Maybe it's the first thing that you've done yet today.
So be gentle with your body and your mind.
Maybe you're like me and your voice hasn't even woken up yet.
It's okay.
You're here and you're sat meditating with me.
Slow down your breathing just a little bit more.
Start to become more focused on just your breath alone.
As you sit quiet and still,
Relax into that feeling inside of your body that feels soft and pliable.
Like you could float back to sleep at any second.
It's an actual sensation if you tap into it.
It feels like a soft rumbling sensation inside of your muscles and your bones.
Be really still and feel it in your hands.
You'll be able to tune into a humming sensation in your fingers.
Like you're awake but sleep is still right there if you wanted it.
It's a pleasurable feeling.
It feels soft and warm.
A feeling of being still under the covers.
This feeling is one that we assume we should shake off as soon as we wake up.
Get up.
Get going.
Get moving on to the next.
On and on.
But for this meditation I want you to actually just enjoy this in-between,
Floaty,
Soft humming sensation that you have in your entire body.
An awareness of the in-between stage.
It feels light like you could float up to the ceiling in your room but it also feels slumpy and heavy.
At the same time you're awake and conscious but sleep is right there just behind you and you could fall back into it very easily if you wanted to.
It's a sweet place to be that we don't allow because we think we should be awake and going already.
Maybe there's lots of things that's pleasurable that we don't allow ourselves to experience because of all the responsibilities and the sheds but we're not in the shed right now.
We're meditating in the sweet spot right there in the middle.
Maybe you can start to feel a pulse in that sensation.
Allow it to collaborate with your heartbeat and you'll feel a zoning in and out like a pulse in your body.
Just focus on nothing but the pleasure of this sensation inside of your body.
That's it.
That's the objective of your time right now and then if you open your eyes gently,
Stir some movement in your fingertips,
You'll start to feel your body coming into more of a presence.
A heavier solid mass of cells and bones and muscles.
Just shake your shoulders just gently a little bit.
Take a nice big deep breath and feel into that breath coming in your body going all the way through you as if it's waking up and dissolving that sweet spot sensation away.
Maybe you can lift your arms up for me and just shake them around a little bit.
Being a little bit more intentional with your movement.
Wake up,
Body.
Wake up,
Mind.
And we're ready for the day.
Namaste,
My friend.
