Ganesha is the God of removing obstacles. Chanting his mantra invites him into your awareness to aid in removing obstacles from your life. This meditation uses the aid of a mala and has a short explaination in how to use malas, but a mala is not required to participate.

The anatomy of a mala.

So we have a tassel.

And I don't know if that's just to make it pretty and hide the string.

But we have the guru bead.

And the guru bead represents your guru and or.

I like the idea of the guru within.

So the idea is that you never crossed the guru bead.

You would,

You know,

Go all the way.

Along 108 times.

And then if you wanted to go again,

Because you always start to the right.

You would flip it and then start as opposed to going across and just keep on going.

Does that make sense?

So you go to the right.

You start here.

Index finger is a representation of your ego.

And you never want to bring your ego into your spiritual practice.

So the idea is that you never touch your mala with your index finger.

Just throwing that out there.

I mean,

It happens.

So if you were to go right all the way through.

And you wind up here.

You would flip it.

And now you're on the right again and start again.

And you can,

I mean,

It takes some time and some practice.

The way that you move through is each bead just reminds you.

There you are.

Where you are now.

Some malas will have like fancy stuff like buddhas or I think no one has hamasa hands.

Those don't count.

They're not they're not a bead.

So you just when you feel them,

You just move right on by.

And you just move the bead with om ganapataye namaha.

Om ganapataye namaha.

All right,

Moving that way.

The idea and I love this because I've just bought a mala business is that your mala will only carry one mantra.

I think that as soon as I heard that I was like,

Oh,

Yeah.

I bought a mala for each mantra that I have.

And it said that that mala will be infused with that mantra once you've used it every day for 40 days with the same mantra.

So I'm just throwing that out there as with the index finger thing.

You can like say,

No,

I'm good and have one mala or have several and just use them for whatever you want.

And I have lots of mala's a lot long before I bought a business and started making them.

I think that's really all I have to say about mala's are not ever supposed to be put on the ground.

But like,

Again,

If you're bringing them to practice and then lay them beside your mat,

I mean,

What's the terribleness in that?

Take the mala and find a comfortable seat.

We are sending salutations to Ganesha.

Ganesha is one of my fave gods.

He is the remover of obstacles.

He's also he has so many stories.

He's also like,

Not perfect.

He's like greedy,

And he's kind of like,

A little bit egotistical.

You know,

He's the god of gods.

So he and he plays like he's really jokey.

So he also won't remove obstacles.

He puts them in place.

And the idea behind that is that this obstacle or this lesson needs to be learned.

So if he's not willing to remove the obstacle,

We're at least asking them to help us like move through it with ease and grace,

Two words that maybe you might want to add to your vocabulary with ease and grace.

Because you can do all of this with ease and grace.

It doesn't have to be the long road.

It doesn't have to be the hard road,

Even if you believe that up to now.

So that's what we're calling in.

Let's remove some obstacles.

And if we can't remove them,

Then let's just circumnavigate them with ease and grace.

So please find the guru bead and then go to the right of it and put it on your middle finger and then you're just going to pull with your thumb.

Roll your shoulders down your spine.

And you don't have to chant if this sounds like weird or crazy to you.

It's cool.

We will infuse you with our chance.

And just start whenever you feel comfortable,

Join in with me.

And even if I was to do this all by myself,

All 108 times,

I would be totally fine.

So don't feel obliged.

Let's start with a cleansing breath together.

Inhale and exhale.

And then inhale.

We'll start on the exhale.
