Spending a few quiet moments in bed before you wake for the day is a gift.

By listening to this meditation while still lying in bed,

Before completely awakening in these first few moments,

When the boundaries between sleep and wakefulness blur,

The rhythm of your breathing is steady and slow,

A result of the serene world you just left behind.

It's a unique moment in time that comes from being neither here nor there,

Still wrapped in the tranquility of night.

Inhale deeply through the nose.

Hold your breath for just a moment,

And exhale with a gentle sigh.

Calmness envelopes you in the form of blankets and sheets,

And your senses begin to awaken.

But they do so gently,

Without rush or urgency.

Take a moment to feel your body rest as it is.

Notice the sensation of your fingertips gently gliding over the contours and folds of the sheets beneath you.

Feel how the fabric's temperature changes as you move.

Savor the luxury that is waking up gradually.

Feel the still-present heaviness in your eyelids,

And welcome the silence.

The softness of the mattress below you has cradled you during sleep,

And it continues to support you now.

Inhale deeply through the nose.

Hold your breath for just a moment,

And exhale with a gentle sigh.

There will be enough expected of you today,

So I welcome you to let the breath flow freely now,

Gently in and gently out.

Noticing how your body feels in this present moment,

As you begin to awaken your senses.

Stretch and reposition your arms,

Your legs,

Toes,

Shifting your hands to rest on your sacral chakra,

The space just below your belly button,

As your mind awakens 10% more.

Your breath is nourishing and life-affirming.

You are exactly where you are meant to be.

A talented creator and narrator of your own story,

You shape your own realities today.

You will have freedom to decide how you will feel,

To choose what motivates you.

You always rise with confidence and appreciate what you see.

An intention is like a stone you keep tucked away in your pocket,

Invisible to anyone but you.

Taking a moment to choose an intention that feels right for you,

Like a gentle nudge from your inner self.

Visualize it like a small,

Radiant stone and carry it with you today.

You are ready to awaken with confidence and clarity,

Inhaling love and gratitude for yourself,

For this moment,

And exhale,

Letting go of any pressure to need or be anyone other than you.

Letting go of expectations or outcomes,

Beginning to bring awareness back into your body by gently wiggling your toes and fingers.

And when you feel ready,

Open your eyes and bring with you a sense of calm and clarity for whatever it is that lies ahead.
