Gratitude is simple.
It's the act of noticing.
It feels like a deep refreshing inhale.
It's warm and comforting,
Like a mug of coffee or tea.
It's actually quite easy to find.
Once you start to look for it,

In a world that often glorifies significant achievements and elaborate gestures,
It's easy to overlook the simple pleasures of everyday life.
So let's do that now by closing your eyes and just take a moment to focus on the quiet music playing in the background as you take some easy breaths on your own.
In this moment I'd like to invite you to take your hands and place one over your heart and one on your belly and just take a pause to feel the warmth of your own touch,
The gentle pressure of your hands resting,
The rhythm of your heart beating,
And take another deep breath in through the nose before you allow the breath to release.
When we take the time to appreciate the small things in our lives,
Like the simple act of breathing easily,
We cultivate gratitude for little things that happen without us even noticing.
Small inconspicuous moments that happen throughout a day that you almost don't even notice,
Unless you do.
A stranger letting you into a traffic lane,
Seat warmers on a cool morning,
Pieces of your day stacking up line by line,
Like words on a page,
Adding up like pages in a book.
One single page of a book means almost nothing,
But collectively the pages are what make the story being told rich and fulfilling,
And the same can be said for your life.
So I encourage you now to rewind your day,
Or maybe even your week,
And to find a few moments you might have overlooked the first time,
And to recognize them now as special and meaningful.
Simplicities can bring great joy and satisfaction when we fully immerse ourselves in the moment.
I want you to take whatever you are feeling grateful for,
And hold that feeling deep in your chest,
And really allow yourself to recognize how it feels,
And to feel your whole body relaxed by the pure comfort of it.
Gratitude is simple,
It's actually quite easy to find once you start looking for it.
Take a final deep belly breath in,
Once again finding yourself grateful for the simple practice of breathing,
And exhale.
And when you feel ready,
Open your eyes and come back to the space around you.
