It's not easy to find happiness in ourselves,
And it is not possible to find it elsewhere.
So let's begin by gently closing your eyes,
And taking a deep breath in through the nose,
And exhale as you let it all go,
Letting your breath find a natural rhythm,
As you continue to rest,
Just as you are.
We often forget we are human beings infused with life,
To look upon ourselves as miracles and a thing of beauty,
To take time from doing and becoming,
To simply look and to really see our true reflections and all that we carry inside.
Take a deep breath in,
And exhale as you find yourself able to let go a little more.
I'd like you to take both hands now and place them gently over your eyes,
As a silent nod for the gift of sight,
For this gift of seeing,
To see a smile stretched out across the face of someone you love,
To see the way shadows and light dance across floors.
Breathe in,
And feel all your eyes allow you to see and experience.
Now placing your hands gently over your ears,
As we give recognition for the gift of sound,
For the gift of hearing,
To listen to the cadence as wind blows through the trees,
The sweet sound of a spring bird's song.
Breathe in,
And feel all your ears allow you to hear.
And placing both of your hands over your throat,
As we recognize the gift of your voice,
For the ability to speak words,
To express love through sound.
Breathe in,
And feel all your voice brings to this world,
And placing your hands over your heart,
As we recognize the gift of feeling,
To know the feeling of being in love,
For the reminder that you are alive.
Breathe in,
And out.
We are meant to find what is hidden inside of us,
It is us we are meant to find,
So I invite you to pause,
To stop whatever it is you have been doing,
And to look gently within.
So we begin here.
This relationship,
It's soft and porous,
And each time you visit your soul in this way,
You are reminded of who you are.
It's a relationship that grows with time.
Take a final deep breath in,
And on the exhale open your eyes.
Can you still feel your soul here with you?
You are always here.
You are always this close.
