Samadhi Poem by Paramahansa Yogananda With the veils of light and shadow lifted,
All sadness evaporated,
Transient joys dawned sailed far away,
The murky mirage of senses dissolved.
Love,
Hate,
Health,
Disease,
Life,
Death,
These false shadows on the canvas of duality vanished.
The storm of maya calmed with the magic wand of deep intuition.
Present,
Past,
Future,
No longer exist for me,
Only the eternal self,
Omnipresent,
I,
Everywhere,
Planets,
Stars,
Constellations' dust,
Earth,
Volcanic eruptions of final judgment,
The creative forge,
Clusters of silent X-rays,
Deluges of blazing electrons,
Thoughts of all men,
Past,
Present,
Future,
Every blade of grass,
Myself,
Humanity,
Each particle of universal dust,
Anger,
Ambition,
Good,
Evil,
Salvation,
Lust,
All I assimilated,
All I transmuted in the vast ocean of my undivided self.
Blazing jubilation,
Frequently feigned by meditation,
Blinding my teary eyes,
Its bursts into immortal flames of bliss,
Consumed my tears,
My limits,
My all.
You are me,
I am you,
The knower,
The known,
The knowing,
Unified,
Compensation,
Uninterrupted,
Ever new peace,
Eternally alive,
Transcendent delight,
Beyond imaginations,
Expectations,
Samadhi's bliss,
Neither unconscious state nor mental chloroform without voluntary return,
Samadhi expands my conscious realm,
Beyond the bounds of my mortal frame,
To the furthest frontier of eternity,
Where I,
The cosmic sea,
Observe the tiny eagle floating in me.
From atoms,
Whispers of motions are heard,
Mountains,
Valleys are liquid infusion,
Fluid seas turn into nebulous vapors,
Blows upon the vapors,
Revealing marvels,
Beyond,
Oceans unfold,
Unveiled,
Sparkling electrons,
Until at the final beat of the cosmic drum,
The densest light transmutes into eternal rays of bliss,
Permeating everything,
From joy I came,
For joy I live,
In sacred joy I dissolve,
Ocean of the mind,
I drink all waves of creation,
The four veils of solid,
Liquid,
Gaseous and luminous lifted,
I in all penetrate the great I,
Gone forever are the flickering shimmery shadows of mortal memories,
Immaculated is my mental sky,
Below,
Ahead and high above,
Eternity and I,
A single united reign,
Tiny bubble of laughter,
I,
Turned into the very ocean of joy.
