This place has turned into a hidden gem only known to those who explored it when the sign was still standing.
You park the van in the soft sand by the side of the road,
Grab your water,
Some snacks,
And head out on the trail.
The path winds through the saguaro forest where giant,
Tall cacti with exotic appearances and fleshy arms covered with spines tower overhead.
Many have succulent crowns of white flowers on their tops and trunks pockmarked with big holes that make you wonder if owls might be sleeping inside.
Creosote bushes also line the trail full of bright yellow blossoms buzzing with small bees and butterflies covered by black and white stripes.
The fragrance from these bushes reminds you of the scent of earth after it's rained.
