What Is An Emotion? The Question That Opens The Door To...
by Chris Wilson
Let's open a door into embodied awareness. If emotions begin as sensations, then developing interoception gives us earlier access to emotional information. We explore neuroception, suppression versus repression, and why there are no bad or good emotions. As always, my intention is to create a space where you can slow down so you can practice the tools and skills to develop the capacity to respond to the challenges in your life, work, and relationships in more empowering ways. This Practice Might Be Good For You If: - You want to understand interoception and emotion - You have been told to feel but do not know how - You intellectualize emotions - You want embodied emotional intelligence - You prefer concepts before practice In This Session You Will: - Explore the research-based definition of emotion - Understand the cascade from sensation to worldview - Learn suppression versus repression - Discover why embodied awareness accesses what thinking cannot - Reframe good and bad emotions
