
Sleeping By The Stream
Fall asleep fast with this soft and gentle guided meditation that describes how it feels to sleep beside a stream within a forest. You will find yourself drifting off into a deep sleep very quickly as you imagine the very serene and tranquil setting in your mind. There is soft music and the exhilarating sound of a stream in the background as I guide you.
Transcript
Find a comfortable position and get ready to take your mind somewhere else as you sleep.
Now closing your eyes,
Imagine yourself in a beautiful and peaceful forest.
The sun is shining and the birds are singing as you walk through the forest,
The sound of the stream flowing nearby is the first thing that you notice,
The sound of the water is soothing and calming and it creates a peaceful and serene atmosphere.
The sunlight is shining through the trees and dappling on the ground,
Creating a beautiful and natural light show.
The air is fresh and clean and you can smell the scent of the trees and the flowers that are in bloom,
The trees in the forest are tall and majestic,
Their leaves rustling in the gentle breeze.
The trunks of the trees are thick and sturdy and the bark is rough and textured.
The colours of the trees are a beautiful blend of greens,
From the lightest to the darkest.
The leaves of the trees are a vibrant green and they are a beautiful contrast to the blue sky above.
As you continue to walk through the forest,
You come across a field of wildflowers.
The flowers are a variety of colours,
From bright pink and purple to soft yellow and white.
The petals of the flowers are soft and delicate and they are a beautiful contrast to the rough texture of the trees.
The scent of the flowers is sweet and fragrant and it fills the air around you with a pleasant aroma.
The wildlife in the forest is also a treat to behold,
You can see birds flitting from tree to tree,
Their feathers a beautiful array of colours,
The sound of their singing is a beautiful and natural symphony that fills the air.
You can also see butterflies and bees skirting from flower to flower,
Their wings a beautiful and colourful display.
Sun is shining down and the sky is a beautiful shade of blue,
The clouds are few and far between and they are white and fluffy,
The sound of the stream is louder here and you can see the water sparkling in the sunlight.
The air is warm and comfortable and the sensation of being surrounded by nature is undeniable.
As you take a deep breath in,
You can feel yourself becoming more and more relaxed,
The sound of the stream and the birds singing,
The sight of the wildflowers in the trees and the scent of the flowers in the fresh air all contribute to a peaceful and serene atmosphere.
You can imagine yourself letting go of any overthinking or any worries and you can feel yourself becoming more and more at ease.
As you walk towards the stream,
You can feel the soft grass beneath your feet and the coolness of the air on your skin,
The sun is shining and the sky is a deep blue.
As you approach the stream,
You can see the water flowing over rocks and the sunlight reflecting off the surface,
The sound of the water is calming and soothing,
You can smell the freshness of the water and the earthy scent of the forest.
You find a spot beside the stream and set up your camping gear.
You take a deep breath in and exhale slowly,
Feeling the stress and tension in your body start to melt away.
As you sit beside the stream,
You can feel the warmth of the sun on your skin and the coolness of the water on your feet,
Close your eyes and focus on your breath.
Take a deep breath in and exhale out slowly,
As you exhale,
Let go of any tension or stress in your body.
Imagine yourself feeling calm and at peace with a clear and balanced mind.
Imagine yourself surrounded by the beauty of nature and the peacefulness of the forest,
You can feel yourself becoming more and more relaxed,
Your mind becomes calm and clear and your body is at ease.
As you sit beside the stream,
You may find yourself starting to overthink,
You may find yourself worrying about the future or dwelling on the past,
But as you focus on the sound of the water flowing,
You can feel yourself becoming more and more relaxed.
Imagine yourself letting go of your worries and allowing them to flow away with the water.
Imagine yourself becoming more and more at ease with a clear and balanced mind,
The sun is beginning to set,
The clouds are moving in and you can see the shadows of the trees on the ground,
The sky is turning into a deep blue as the sun sets.
You walk over near your tent and sit in your camping chair,
Sitting down and feeling the rough texture of the fabric on your skin,
You can feel the warmth of the sun on your skin,
But also the coolness of the air as the clouds move in,
The sound of the stream is soothing and peaceful,
And the colours of the sky are changing as the sun sets.
As you breathe in,
You can smell the freshness of the forest,
The pine trees,
The moss,
And the earthy scent of the grass,
The scent of the rain is beginning to mix with the scent of the forest,
And as it begins to rain,
The rain is beginning to mix with the scent of the forest.
Creating a fresh and clean aroma,
The sky is now dark blue and the stars are beginning to appear,
But the clouds are still moving in as the first of the raindrops begin to appear.
The sound of the raindrops hitting the leaves and the water is soothing and calming,
The temperature is dropping slightly as the rain starts to form,
You can feel yourself becoming more relaxed,
You can let go of any overthinking or anxiety,
You can imagine yourself releasing any tension or stress that may be held in your body,
You absorb all the tranquility of the forest.
Now feeling very refreshed,
You stand up and take a look around at the beauty that you see.
Now very tired,
You head to your tent and slip into your sleeping bag for the night.
As you lie down in your sleeping bag,
Inside the tent,
You can feel the softness of the fabric against your skin,
The sound of the raindrops hitting the tent is calming,
And the sound of the thunder in the distance is distant and peaceful,
The scent of the fresh rain and the earthy scent of the forest fills the air inside the tent.
The light coming through the tent is dim,
But still enough for you to see the shadows of the trees outside,
The temperature inside the tent is warm and comfortable,
As you close your eyes,
You can feel yourself becoming more relaxed,
The sound of the rain and the thunder in the background along with the sound of the stream and the sensation of being cosy creates peace within you,
You can imagine yourself letting go of any overthinking and any worries that you may have.
Close your eyes and bring your attention to your toes,
Notice any sensations you feel there,
Any tension or tightness,
Take a deep breath in and as you exhale,
Imagine that your breath is flowing down into your toes,
Soothing and relaxing them,
Allow any tension to melt away,
Leaving your toes feeling calm and at ease.
Now shift your focus to the soles of your feet,
Notice any points of contact between your feet and the surface you're resting on,
With each breath out,
Imagine that any stress or anxiety that you're holding in your feet is being released,
Allowing your feet to become fully relaxed.
Moving your attention upwards towards your ankles and calves,
Become aware of any sensations you feel in those areas,
As you inhale,
Imagine a wave of relaxation flowing up from your toes through your ankles and calves,
Loosening any tightness or tension along the way.
Feel your muscles becoming soft and relaxed,
Shift your awareness to your knees and thighs,
Notice any sensations,
With each breath out,
Imagine that your breath is gently caressing these areas,
Bringing a sense of calmness and release,
Feel the tension in your knees and thighs dissolving,
Leaving them feeling light.
Now bring your attention to your hips and lower back,
Become aware of any sensations or areas of tightness,
As you inhale deeply,
Visualise your breath flowing into these areas,
Breathing them in a soothing,
Warm light,
Allow any stress or tension to be released,
Leaving your hips and lower back feeling deeply relaxed.
Move your awareness to your abdomen and chest,
Notice the rise and fall of your breath,
The gentle expansion and contraction of your belly and chest.
With each exhalation,
Imagine that any worries,
Anxieties or stress are being released,
Feel your abdomen and chest becoming soft,
Calm and at peace,
Shift your focus to your hands and arms,
Notice any sensations,
Any points of tension or discomfort.
As you breathe in,
Visualise your breath flowing into your hands and arms,
Bringing relaxation and serenity,
Let go of any tension or stress that you're holding onto,
Allow your arms and hands to feel light,
Loose and deeply at rest.
Now bring your attention to your shoulders and neck,
Notice any areas of tightness or constriction.
With each breath out,
Imagine that your breath is gently melting away any tension or knots in those areas,
Feel your shoulders dropping,
Your neck becoming loose and supple.
As all the stress and anxiety leave your body,
Now shifting your awareness to your head,
Notice any sensations as you inhale deeply.
Imagine your breath flowing into your head,
Enveloping your entire mind in a soothing,
Calming energy.
Let go of any thoughts or worries,
Allow your mind to become clear and serene.
I am surrounded by peace and calmness,
I am in complete control of my thoughts and emotions,
I am healing as I fall asleep,
I release any negative thoughts and feelings,
I trust in the healing power of my mind and body,
I am at peace with my past,
Present and future.
I am grateful for the rest and sleep I receive,
I am surrounded by love and positivity,
I choose to focus on what brings me peace,
I let go of any worries and trust in the universe to guide me,
I am filled with a sense of inner peace,

Of course, it was so wonderful that I fell asleep just hearing the first few words! I was thinking about whether there would be mosquitos by the stream but you probably didn’t put them in. This reminded me of my peaceful place as a teenage girl. I would take my fishing pole, blanket & book & spend the day by the flowing creek until I caught my limit of trout. Laying on my blanket & looking up at the tall trees with birds singing, I felt totally at peace. Thank you for this beautiful meditation.
