The Space Between Thoughts: Where Healing Begins

What if healing doesn’t happen by controlling your thoughts… but by noticing the space between them? In this talk, I share why I create short micro-meditations for real life — for overwhelm, emotional triggers, anxiety, stress, and the everyday chaos so many of us experience. Please note that while these practices are supportive, they do not replace professional medical or mental health care. This isn’t about perfection or becoming someone who never struggles. It’s about creating a small pause… a little space… so you can respond differently instead of reacting automatically. For busy minds, sensitive people, overthinkers, and anyone trying to navigate life with more awareness.

So I just want to talk a little bit about the meditations I create and the reason and the root of why I create them.

So first I created them mainly for myself.

I have a busy mind.

I am doing 15 things at once.

It's just kind of the way I roll.

Like many of us in collective society,

We're trying to keep up with the rat race and the pace.

I'm also highly sensitive at times.

So I need to have something that grounds me and keeps me coherent so that I can show up properly.

So I created all the meditations for myself first.

I did them for a reason to ground and structure my day,

But I also took it from all the different certifications I've done.

So I've done thousands of hours in yoga training and stuff with hard math and all different kinds of places,

And I really just synthesize what works for me.

And what truly worked for me,

For someone who doesn't fit the typical meditation mold,

Someone who's really busy,

A little bit A-type at times,

And very productive,

Is I needed short micro doses of meditations,

Ones that would fit me.

Some of my ones aren't as traditional as the other ones could seem.

Like I've got sometimes some music that might feel a little loud for you,

But for me that really helps with the visual.

And a lot of mine are short and to the point.

And not because I don't think long meditations are wildly important,

Because I do those as well.

But I think those short ones in the moments,

Like the ones where you feel super overwhelmed or you're feeling this emotion rise for you,

Are really important.

Especially if you know,

You can go through some of my playlists,

And I had a moment of jealousy,

I'll try this meditation.

I had a moment of feeling angry at this driver,

I'll try this meditation.

I have my own little playlist for when things go wrong,

And I go to just as a quick reset.

Because let's be honest,

Daily life is our daily challenge.

And if we can learn to meet those moments,

Not with perfection,

Because I don't believe that you'll ever get perfect at this,

But just giving yourself a little space,

You're going to really show up in a different way.

And then also,

The more we do this,

The better we get at it.

And the better we get at responding to life's really hard moments,

And let's be honest,

There's many of those,

The more it will spill over to the rest of our lives.

So when you're having those tough moments,

I would say try to use either mine or someone else's,

I really don't care,

Micro meditations in that moment,

So you can meet it,

Create some space around it,

Not perfect it,

But just create a little bit of space,

Give yourself a tiny bit of a buffer,

And restart again.

Again,

Most of my I'm trying to create under five minutes,

I'm going to do longer ones for certain reasons as well.

But those ones that you need on that day where your boss is tough,

Your workload is too heavy,

You're feeling extreme overwhelm,

Meet those human emotions,

Create some space,

Give yourself a little bit of grounding,

Give yourself some positive words,

Some positive mindsets to jump into it,

And see if it can help reset it.

Those little resets throughout the day,

Especially in that state of heightened awareness can do great things.

Anyway,

I hope it works for you,

And I'd love to hear about it.
