Here's a quick device that I sometimes think of to help me re-enter the present moment.
Consider the existence of two doors.
And in any moment you are opening one or the other.
And those are what I call the old door.
And the new door.
The old door and the new door.
And the old door is simply made of past and future.
But really it's just made of the past,
That's why it's called old,
Because the future is simply the past projected onto the possible future.
The old door.
And then the new door.
Is just what's here.
And it's always new.
It's always totally,
Completely brand new.
It's a miracle that any of this exists.
And you could consider the feeling of opening a door and you don't know what's behind it.
In any moment,
You could close your eyes,
Maybe we could close our eyes together just for a few seconds.
Take a couple deep breaths.
Come back however it is that you come back to a present moment awareness.
Maybe even as if you were waking back up or waking up for the first time today.
Shifting out of the tension of who you think you should be,
Or what you think life should or shouldn't be,
And that's the old door.
And into the relaxation of who you are and what this is.
Feeling the new door opening.
And you could feel yourself pulling the door open right now.
And then whenever the eyes would like to reopen.
They were closed.
You can allow them to open as if you're opening a new door.
