Thank you for joining me today.
In today's meditation,
We will be using the assistance of a pet.
Please make sure that your pet is calm and can be relaxed for 10 to 15 minutes.
You can have them sit in your lap or next to you where you can touch them.
Make sure that you're in a comfortable space,
A place where you're able to relax and feel safe.
Beginning now by tuning and turning inward.
Focusing on the breath and closing the eyes.
Allowing the inhale and the exhale to extend.
Scanning through the body and noticing any places of tension.
Checking in with the normal places where you might hold your stress.
Could be the shoulders,
The jaw,
The stomach.
Breathing in and allowing any tension to roll away.
With your pet on your lap or next to you,
Begin to listen or feel with your hands or both for your pet's breath.
Can you feel or hear the inhale or exhale?
Notice it with your ears,
Your hands,
Maybe you can feel it if they're on your lap.
Simply staying in this space,
Keeping your own breath deep and nourishing and turning your attention now to noticing and staying with your pet's breath.
Being here in curiosity and wonder,
What do you notice?
With your hands on your pet,
Noticing the texture of their fur or hair,
Scales or feathers.
Release your attention on how it feels under your fingers.
What do you notice that you may have never noticed before?
In your mind's eye,
I'd like you to imagine that there's a beam of light extending from your own heart,
Reaching towards the heart of your pet.
This is a light of connection.
This light brings you and your pet together in this space to enjoy this mindful time.
Staying here for a few moments in silence,
Exploring with curiosity the connection to your pet,
The connection of breath,
The connection of heart,
And the connection of touch.
Their presence and connection to you allows you to fully relax.
To embrace the calm.
They can help you embody peace.
Let go of your thoughts.
Connect to the vast knowingness of the universe.
Checking in with yourself.
Noticing your breath.
Scanning your body for any tension that may have crept in.
Tuning in again if you've lost touch.
Noticing your pet's breathing.
Noticing the way they feel under your hands or on your lap.
Bending heart to heart with the beam of light.
And in this beam,
There is a deep connection,
A deep sense of love,
Of support,
Of grounding.
You'll stay here in silence for one final moment.
Remembering that you can come back to this space,
This place,
And this peace anytime you like,
Even without your pet present.
Thank you very much for joining me today.
Have a wonderful day.
