Hello and welcome to Rewrite the Replay.
Guided meditation where I guide you back through your day and help you revisit four key moments in the morning,
Midday,
Afternoon and evening and allow you to reimagine how you wish you had responded.
Because the way you acted today does not have to become the way that you respond tomorrow and this practice is here to help you do exactly that.
It's not for you to judge yourself or to pretend that the day happened differently.
You're simply giving your mind and your body the opportunity to experience a different response.
Perhaps a response that feels more intentional and aligned with the person that you're choosing to become.
There are four key moments split across the four key times of the day,
But if you only have one or two,
That's okay.
You can pause after you feel like you have rewritten what you needed for the day.
Before we begin,
Allow yourself to become comfortable.
Feel free to shake out anything in your arms or your legs and let your body settle into the surface beneath you.
Feel free to let your hands rest wherever it feels natural.
And when you're ready,
Gently close your eyes.
Take a deep breath in through your nose,
Expanding the belly,
And exhale like you're blowing through a straw.
With every breath,
Feel your body begin to soften your shoulders lowering your jaw relaxing and your forehead becoming smoother We're gonna take a few breaths here in through the nose and out and out through the mouth.
In through the nose and out like you're blowing through a straw.
Take one final deep inhale through your nose,
Hold it gently.
And exhale slowly There's nothing you need to solve or force.
You're simply here to observe,
Revisit and rewrite.
Now I want you to imagine a screen appearing in front of you.
And on that screen playing is the day that you've just lived.
Allow the details to appear in whatever way feels natural.
It might be clear images or it might just be feelings or words or colours.
There's no right way to experience this.
And in a moment,
I'm going to count down from 10 to 1.
And as I count down,
I want you to imagine your day beginning to rewind across the screen.
And with every number,
Feel yourself moving a little closer toward the screen,
As though it's gently drawing you in.
You don't need to resist the pull.
You're safe to return to the day,
Because you're entering it with a new awareness.
You already know what happened.
This time,
You're returning with choice.

4,
3,
2,
1.
9 8 7 6 5 4 3 You've entered your day.
You're inside it again.
Good morning.
You've just woken up.
Take a moment to notice where you are.
Notice the room around you,
The temperature,
The sensations in your body.
And you already know what's to come.
Bring to mind the first moment from your morning that you're going to choose to revisit.
Notice where you are,
What's happening and who's around you.
Let the original moment begin to play.
You don't need to judge this version of you.
Just acknowledge what happened.
And now allow the scene to pause.
Everything becomes still.
You already know what's about to happen,
But this time you're going to respond differently.
Return to the beginning of the scene again,
And this time move through it according to the re-script you created.
I'm going to give you a minute here and allow this new scene to unfold and rewrite.
Beautiful.
Allow the scene to come to a natural end and notice how it feels to have responded that way.
Let it settle into your body.
And when you're ready,
We're gonna move on gently to our midday rewrite.
Bring to mind the second experience you want to revisit.
Allow the details to appear around you.
Where are you?
Who's with you?
What's happening?
Notice what emotions arise.
If there's any tension in your body,
Remember you can always use your breath and send the relaxation to that part of your body and allow it to release.
What's happening in this second experience?
Observe how you originally responded without criticism and just see it simply,
See it clearly.
And when you're ready,
Pause the scene,
Take a slow breath in,
You know what's coming,
Meet this experience with the new awareness,
And when you're ready,
Respond according to your re-script.
I'm going to give you a minute here,
Let the new moment unfold.
Well done.
Allow that scene to end.
Feel the difference.
We're going to keep continuing forward into the afternoon.
You're doing so well.
Bring to mind the third moment.
Notice if there's any similarities,
Any patterns,
Any recurring sensation in your body.
Just put that to the back of your mind and when we finish this meditation you can write that down to come back to.
Simply witness the pattern for now and when you're ready,
Pause the scene,
Take a breath,
Return to the beginning and this time choose the response that is more courageous.
Whatever it is,
There is no perfect response.
Only one that is truly aligned for you.
I'm going to give you a minute here.
You have rewritten three big moments of your day,
And we're going to finish off with the last one.
Bring to mind the final moment of your day that you're going to re-script.
Allow yourself to arrive at the beginning of it.
Notice everything happening around you.
See what's happened.
Hear what's said.
Hold this version of you with compassion.
And when you're ready,
Pause the scene.
Take a deep breath in.
Respond in a way that feels respectful to both you and the moment.
Stay connected to your body,
To your voice and the version of you that you are choosing to become every time you return to this.
Let the new scene unfold.
I'm going to give you one minute.
As you allow that final moment to close,
Take a deep breath in through your nose and exhale.
See yourself finishing off your day,
Returning to the place where you are now.
Maybe you're preparing for bed or having a tea.
Either way,
You've just moved through the same day.
The circumstances may have remained the same,
But you experienced yourself directly within them in a different way.
To be this version of you?
Do you feel proud,
Calm,
Content?
By returning to this practice,
You're showing yourself that one reaction does not have to become an identity.
The day may be over,
But this pattern doesn't have to follow you into tomorrow,
And that's what you've practiced today.
Take a deep breath in,
Exhale slowly and just ask yourself what part of me that I experienced through this practice do I want to carry forward tomorrow?
And whether or not you have an answer that's okay,
Just allow whatever feeling,
Word or image arose when I asked you that.
Let that quality remain with you as you go to sleep.
You can now let yourself rest.
