Hi fellow being,
I am Janelle Tai and I'm honored to guide you through today's meditation becoming one with the ocean.
Make sure you're sitting in a comfortable upright position in a quiet space and give yourself a couple of huge high breaths to come home.
For huge high breathing,
Imagine you're holding a glass in front of you that you want to fog up with your breath.
A blow.
Now do the same only with your mouth closed on your exhale.
It will sound like this.
Inhale through your nose.
And exhale.
Almost like the subtle sound of an ocean.
Pay attention to your breath and your unique ocean sound.
Take a couple of moments now to do this in your own rhythm.
Let's go.
Our breath connects us to our body.
When we're grounded in our body,
We feel more connected to ourselves and the world around us.
Breathe in.
And breathe out naturally.
Now imagine you're sitting in front of the ocean.
Perhaps you want to picture the ocean from your last vacation,
One you've seen in a movie.
What color does the water have?
And how are the waves moving,
Wildly or calmly?
Really feel yourself being there.
Breathe in the fresh air.
Feel like caressing your face.
Hear the ocean sounds while watching the waves rising and falling.
Whenever thoughts of self-doubt arise,
Transform them into waves that rise and fall as part of your current and return home to your breath.
Consider a single wave arising from the ocean.
Can you see it reaching a peak before it crashes?
When waves crash,
They separate into single drops of water until they reunite and become one with the ocean again.
Can you see this magical cycle of connection,
Separation and connection?
As the waves rise and fall,
As they play their symphony of uniqueness,
They just are.
They don't compare themselves to each other because they know they're one with the ocean.
Now imagine the waves would think they are separate from it,
Competing for who goes the highest,
Wildest and loudest.
All of them,
Silently or loud,
Would start doubting themselves whether they are good enough to participate in the race of who is the best wave on the ocean.
Unlikely right?
Remember to stay grounded in your breath,
Breathing in and out calmly.
Often,
Our self-doubt is rooted in comparison.
When we compare,
We separate ourselves from the whole,
Our environment,
Our loved ones and sometimes even ourselves.
Separation in any form creates disconnection and isolation.
Our thoughts of self-doubt become waves doubting themselves and their place as part of the ocean.
When in fact,
It's our beautiful uniqueness that's the piece of the universal puzzle.
I invite you now to step into the ocean with acceptance.
Feel the ocean water on your toes,
Your legs and hips.
And as you continue to walk inside,
Release your waves of self-doubt and let them merge with the infinite healing water.
Feel it caressing your entire body and allow it to merge with the ocean,
Becoming one.
Feel how you're getting lighter and more connected to the true version of you.
Take a couple of deep breaths here,
Feeling at ease and connected.
And to the real you,
Your true self,
The one that is one with the ocean.
And when you're ready,
Walk back to the shore with this awareness,
Watching over the ocean deeply knowing there's only one thing and we all are it.
Namaste.
