Welcome my love to this meditation,
Soaking in self-worth.
My name is Janelle Tai and I'll have the honor to guide you today.
Before we move to our meditation,
A couple of pointers.
Some of the things I say may trigger certain emotions,
Memories or experiences.
Firstly,
It's important that you allow yourself the space to feel and process,
And in doing so,
Honor yourself and your unique level of readiness.
Secondly,
Your breath is the doorway home.
Whenever your thoughts drift away,
Return with your focus gently to your breath,
Without judgment,
And start again.
Thirdly,
At the end of our meditation we'll use a mantra.
A mantra is a special sound you can whisper or silently repeat to yourself.
You can sync this mantra with your in and out breath,
Which is simply let your breath flow naturally.
There's no need to force it.
Feel within and allow the vibration of the mantra to reach you.
Now that being said,
Sit comfortably in a quiet space where you can just be with yourself.
If you like you can grab a blanket and wrap it around you or lean your back against the wall or chair.
Now close your eyes and arrive in this moment,
Taking a deep breath in and out,
Releasing all the thoughts about the past and the future,
Knowing and failing,
That you can take care of them later if still needed.
And if you have a thought that's a bit sticky,
Just release it with your next breath,
Breathing in and breathing out.
Now being connected to your breath,
Check in how you're doing.
How do your feet and legs feel?
How about your hips,
Belly and chest?
What about your throat and your head?
How are they doing?
Simply observe without judgement.
Breathe into the body parts that may feel a bit more tense to send them some love and with your next breath,
Feel your body in this space.
Feel how your body is taking up space in this space.
You may have some struggles with it every now and then,
But within you know it's unique to you and it is beautiful in its essence.
Your body is housing you,
It is taking you from A to B daily.
Ground yourself in gratitude towards your body right now,
Breathing in and breathing out.
And as you're honoring your body with your breath,
Elongate your exhale for a couple of moments.
If you like,
You can mentally count until four on your in-breath and until eight on your out-breath.
Like this,
Inhale,
Exhale.
Exhale.
Notice how with every out-breath you're sinking deeper and deeper into your body,
Feeling more present and relaxed,
Feeling safe.
You're gifting yourself this time right now,
Showing up for nobody but you.
What an enormous act of self-love.
Thank yourself for that.
Say thank you,
Thank you,
Thank you.
If you haven't done so already,
Return to your natural breathing pattern.
Visualize you're standing in front of yourself as if you were to stand in front of a mirror.
Look at your eyes,
Your mouth,
Your ears,
Your skin,
Your entire body.
What do you see?
Look at this person,
Mindfully,
With unconditional acceptance.
Can you see the child in their eyes?
If not,
Perhaps take a step forward to take a closer look.
What can you see in terms of their pains and struggles they had to overcome,
And how those have formed limiting beliefs around their worthiness?
Can you see all these things of the past,
Try to keep them safe in the now?
If emotions come up,
Allow them to surface.
They have been stored and packed away for too long.
Release them right here,
Right now.
Look at them with compassion,
As if you were to look at a loved one.
Breathe in and out calmly.
Can you see the being who gives their best every time with the awareness they have right now in this moment?
Can you see how courageously they have made it here?
Can you see how they are evolving and healing themselves right now?
Honor them my love,
I honor you.
Can you see their joys,
Their heartful desires?
What are they?
Can you see their joys,
Their heartful desires?
Breathe in and out deservingness.
You are worthy of it all,
Worthy of love,
Being love.
Deep down you know,
Whatever you are going through right now,
You'll make it through.
It's part of your healing journey,
And you will come out a more healed and aligned version of you.
Look at this beautiful being you see in the mirror with love and compassion.
Ask them from whom would you have wished to receive more love and attention?
What kind of words or acts would you have liked them to give you?
Remember to allow emotions to be present with you.
I know this can be challenging,
So take a deep breath in and out.
When you have found these words that you would have wished someone else would have told you,
Give yourself these words right now.
Say them out loud and feel free to hug yourself as you do so.
Perhaps something like I am deserving of love.
I am enough.
I am worthy.
I always have been worthy and I always will be.
I am meeting my needs.
Allow this feeling of worthiness to soak in your body like lotion does on dry skin.
Feel the sensations in your body of how you are soaking in self-worth.
Now ask yourself,
Is there something I need to forgive?
Perhaps it's forgiving the person who hasn't met your needs.
Perhaps it's an older version of you who didn't feel they could stand up for themselves.
With your next breath,
Forgive them now.
And if you can't forgive yourself or them just yet,
Forgive yourself for not being able to forgive them yet.
Practice acceptance,
Knowing that you will be eventually.
Oscar Wilde said,
To love oneself is the beginning of a life-long romance.
And as you gently breathe in and out,
You are connecting to this part of you.
That part of you who knows that love is not something we do,
But who we are.
You are pure love.
Put your hands now on your heart center,
Breathing in and out this feeling of pure love.
Soaking in this feeling of eternal worthiness independently of what is happening outside of you.
You are innately worthy.
You always have been,
And you always will be.
We will start using our mantra now.
Our mantra is Aham Prema,
Which loosely translated means something like I am divine love.
Divine refers to our true nature,
The entire creation we see in the universe within and around us.
On your inhale,
Silently say to yourself Aham.
And on your exhale,
Prema.
Keep your attention on the mantra,
Inhaling and exhaling with every breath,
The inner knowing that you are divine love.
That you are innately worthy.
Remember,
You can repeat the mantra silently or whisper it to yourself.
You can sync it with your breath,
Repeating on your inhale,
Aham,
And on your exhale,
Prema.
Or you can just let your breath flow naturally.
I'll let you do this now for a couple of minutes,
Of space,
Of beingness,
Of worthiness.
Everything that is,
Is worthy to be.
We would not question the worthiness of the trees,
The birds or our pets,
Would we?
That's because we innately know that everything that is,
Is worthy to be.
Now repeat after me.
You can do this silently in your head or say it out loud.
Everything that is,
Is worthy to be.
That includes me.
Everything that is,
Is worthy to be.
That includes me.
Again,
Now with a smile on your face.
Everything that is,
Is worthy to be.
That includes me.
Now this vibrational energy going through your body,
Mind and heart.
Soaking in self-worth.
Take a couple more breaths here,
Connecting to your innate worthiness.
You are deserving when you are loved.
Now slowly in your own time,
Wiggle your toes,
Stretch your body and gently open your eyes.
Bringing back the undeniable truth you remembered.
That you are worthy,
Simply because you are.
