Firmly Planted

Then He got up and rebuked the winds... When Jesus was in the rocky boat facing the storms, He rested. If you are going through life's storms, you too have the ability to rest. As long as you're firmly planted in God, know that no matter what, God will be with you through it.

As life's storms get the best of us. As the winds blow. With challenges at work or finding a job. With rebellious kids or a strong desire to have them. With nagging family members. Or the hope one day you'll reconcile. Life storms. Do you remember what Jesus did in the storm? Remember He was out in the water with the disciples. As the boat thrashed from here and there and the waves made them queasy. Jesus rested. The disciples couldn't understand. But what we now know is that Jesus didn't have to worry about the storms. He wasn't removed from them. He could feel the boat rocking. But he knew who had commands of the winds. And he was confident no matter how strong the winds blew. How much rocking took place. He was planted firmly in God. As you consider your current storms. Take a breath. Rest in this moment knowing you stand firm in God. Continue to breathe. In and out. In and out. In and out. And rest.
