A moment may have passed that caught you by surprise,

A day may have gone by that didn't go as planned,

You may have experienced a month where your bad days seem to outweigh your good days,

A year when not a single month seemed to go right.

But still,

Take a deep breath and release the thought of the moment,

The days and the years.

Take another breath and another.

Keep breathing until your thoughts are consumed by only your breath,

The rising and falling of your chest,

Your lungs filling and dumping out.

Your next exhale,

Allow your breath to return to normal and consider the things you expect for today.

Joy to fill your spirit,

Plans to go your way or better,

People to be pleasant,

Tasks to complete with efficiency.

What things do you expect for today?

As you go throughout the day today,

Continue to expect better until better is what you encounter.
