
Gradual Awakening Of Pure Presence

This last meditation will introduce you to your enlightened nature and show you how to be just that. Includes a gradual progression helping to clear away blockages and obscurations to reveal the pure authentic Buddha nature within.

Welcome to Meditation.
Tonight as part of our series we are doing Awakening the Heart Meditation.
We begin by breathing in and connecting with our postures.
Breathing in and connecting with our body,
Tuning into our body's presence.
As we breathe in,
We breathe in the present moment.
As we breathe out,
We breathe out and let go of the past.
Breathing in,
Straightening up,
Becoming alert.
Breathing out,
Letting go of the week,
Letting go of the day,
Letting go of the last thought.
As we begin the meditation,
We can recall why we meditate and reflect that there's two types of happiness and well-being.
The type that we get from external pleasures,
Which are always impermanent,
Always temporary.
And then the other type of happiness and pleasure that we get from our own minds and our own hearts.
That's a type of happiness and well-being that can be sustained.
So that's what we're cultivating tonight,
An inner type of happiness and peace.
One that is more stable,
More secure than the temporary happiness we get from sensual pleasures.
So we'll take three relaxing breaths together and just get in touch with our tension and then release.
So we take a deep breath,
Hold it and then release it together with an ah.
Everyone let go of your breath,
Breathing out,
Empty your lungs.
Deep breath in.
Tighten your shoulders.
Tense your shoulders up.
And then release.
Once again,
Deep breath in.
Hold,
Tense your shoulders,
Tense your whole body.
Get in touch with the tension,
Hold it,
Feel it.
And let it go.
Last one,
Deep breath in.
Hold,
Tense the shoulders,
Tense the whole body,
Feel it,
Experience it.
Ah.
And let it go.
Continue to breathe in deeply.
Imagine your breath is breathing in blue healing energy.
Imagine your torso is hollow like a vase or a cup.
And as you breathe in,
It fills up from the bottom like you're pouring something into it.
And keeps filling up,
Keeps filling up until you finish your breath.
And then as you empty your breath,
It goes back down again.
So breathing deeply,
Filling up your whole body.
And then breathing out and emptying your whole body.
Filling it up with blue,
White light.
Healing,
Relaxation and then emptying it out again.
As you breathe in the blue,
White light,
Imagine it being healing,
Positive energy.
When you breathe out,
You can imagine you're breathing out black smoke.
And that represents your negative energy,
Your disturbing emotions and frustrations.
Imagine you can breathe them out of your body.
Purify yourself just with your breath.
Breathing in,
I am healed and whole.
Breathing out,
I let go of my negativity.
And then as you breathe in,
You can imagine you're breathing out black smoke.
Once again,
Tune into your posture.
Become aware of your body,
How you're sitting.
I'm going to draw upon the earth's energy by imagining that we're a mountain,
Stable and unmoving like a mountain.
We sit in a noble posture,
Upright,
Facing the world.
We imagine that we're an unmoving,
Stable mountain.
To straighten up,
We can imagine being pulled up by the center of the head by a thread of light.
At the same time,
Allow your shoulders to relax down and release the tension.
As you sit like a mountain,
Draw deep breaths down into your belly.
And be sure to breathe all the way out.
So at this stage,
We're controlling our breath with long,
Slow,
Smooth breaths right down into our belly and then pushing the air all the way out slowly with long,
Slow out breaths.
And we're connecting with our mountain-like posture.
Bring your attention to the center of your chest and imagine you have your own sun there.
The ball of light,
Which is going to represent your loving kindness.
As you breathe in,
Imagine you're breathing into that sun,
Making it flare up.
Every breath now breathing into the chest,
Even get the sense that you're expanding your chest,
Opening your shoulders.
As we breathe into the loving kindness of our sun-like heart.
Just like the sun shines equally for everybody without any biased,
Without any favoritism,
Allow your sun-like heart to shine forth.
Imagine in front of you somebody you care about very much.
Just in your mind's eye.
And as you breathe into your sun-like heart,
Imagine the rays warming the person,
Touching their own heart,
Making their life brighter.
Just for a moment,
Experience the feeling of giving loving kindness rays to this person in front of you.
Imagine there's other people now in front of you,
Perhaps people you have trouble with.
You can bring anyone to mind,
Place them in front of you,
And as you breathe into your warm,
Loving kindness heart,
The rays of that sun shine out towards them.
Without withholding any love from anyone,
Allow your sun-like heart to shine and brighten the lives of the people in front of you.
Imagine the crowd in front of you starts to multiply and multiply.
Your parents are there,
Friends,
Family,
Everyone you've ever known.
In fact,
The whole world begins to appear before you,
And as you breathe into your sun-like heart,
You allow the radiance to become even brighter and shine your loving kindness upon everyone equally.
Funding alternative channel Allow any visualizations that you have to dissolve now with a mountain-like noble pose,
A sun-like heart.
Imagine your mind is inside of your head and it's a sky-like mind.
Imagine a vast blue sky free of any clouds on a bright autumn day.
Imagine that sky is like your mind,
Open,
Spacious,
Clear.
Anchor yourself in your breath.
Start to notice your breath.
Let go of controlling your breath.
And as you notice your breath,
Place most of your awareness in your sky-like mind,
Allowing it to stay open and spacious,
Bright and clear.
Breathing in,
I am aware of my breath.
Breathing out,
I rest into my sky-like nature of mind.
As you get distracted,
Come back to your breath and rest in the spacious sky of your mind.
Imagine that your thoughts are like birds flying through the sky.
As soon as they pass,
They leave no trace.
Just let them fly by.

Org You may have some very loud and persistent thoughts or stories or commentaries going on in your mind.
Imagine they're like a jumbo jet flying through the sky of your mind.
They're very loud for a while.
But just allow it to keep going off into the horizon.
The jumbo jet might leave a trail of smoke behind it,
But that too evaporates into the sky.
And the sky is still open,
Expansive,
And clear.
Breathing in,
I am aware of my breath.
Breathing out,
I rest in the expanse of my sky-like mind.

Org Because our mind and our awareness is open and empty,
It allows anything to arise.
It gives freedom to any thought to come,
Any feeling to come,
Any sensation to arise.
Because our awareness is clear and empty,
It gives the freedom to anything to arise in our bodies and mind.
But we don't have to cling to anything,
We just allow it to arise and allow it to subside.
And we remain stable in the empty clarity of our awareness.
Not clinging to anything,
But also not pushing anything away.
Complete radical acceptance of whatever is happening right now.
Breathing in with awareness,
Breathing out,
Freedom,
Emptiness.
If we can touch on the emptiness of our minds,
The spacious freedom,
The natural peace we have within,
We can experience a type of joy and contentment.
See if we can taste that right now,
Being completely open and accepting of what's arising in this present moment.
And by letting go and not clinging,
Just allow yourself to rest in utter contentment,
Peace and joy.
Meditation shouldn't be difficult.
We can allow the smallest of smiles to emerge on our lips,
Just to reflect that we're experiencing joy and peace at this moment right now.
This meditative peace and joy doesn't have to be a selfish type of peace and joy.
We can offer this peace and joy to others by resting in a spacious and empty clarity of our minds.
We can allow others to be however they want to be.
We can give them and offer others space,
Whether they like us or not like us,
Whether they agree with us or don't agree with us.
We have no agenda.
We have no neediness.
We just allow the open space and clarity of our mind to allow that person to be just how they want to be.
So we can offer space to ourselves and we can offer space to others.
When you Shay� Also,
When we're not caught up in our thoughts,
When we're not entangled with our emotions,
We have a pure type of presence,
A mindful attention that we can offer to others also.
This is the greatest present that you can give to others,
Is your own presence.
Just being with others,
Offering them your mindfulness,
Your full attention.
So by training in this way,
We can learn to offer others a pure type of presence and being,
Allowing space for peace and freedom to arise in the hearts of others as well.
So now we can put all of that together,
Sitting in a noble mountain-like posture,
The warm presence of your sun-like heart and the clarity and freedom,
The sky-like awareness.
We start to connect with our true selves.
