shoulders.
Maybe try and smile with your sides.
Take a deep breath in,
Hold it,
Come on you can sip in a little more air,
There it is,
Hold it,
Slowly exhale and soften every muscle,
Open every crevice,
Feel your skin sparkle.
Rest here in your femininity.
Femininity is not a gender construct,
It is a living manifestation of our wild self.
The feminine in its true form is rare.
Both women and men have abandoned it,
Leaving us living in a disconnected world where notions
of the feminine surround us,
But are usually restrictive and inaccurate.
Most women think of the feminine as weak.
Many women have experienced their femininity in female bodies as inherently unsafe.
We learn and our culture teaches us to devalue and distrust femininity in order to make it
in a man's world.
When we do this,
We cut ourselves off from our feeling,
Knowing,
Wise body.
The feminine is a path back to our true embodied self.
The feminine is our access point to the realm of the soul.
The feminine is the bridge between God and humankind.
Femininity is the most powerful force on earth.
Associated since ancient times with cycles and renewal,
Fertility and death,
Femininity
is full of tensions and opposites that can be difficult for our logical mind to balance.
It is strong and soft,
Creative and powerful,
Light and dark.
We can see the spectrum in the goddess Persephone,
Whose cycle was celebrated for thousands of years.
Persephone appeared as an innocent maiden,
Picking flowers with her nymphs when Hades
appears in the crack in the earth and carries her off to serve as queen of the underworld,
Ruling the shadow realm together with her king.
Persephone's ascent each spring from the underworld represented a reconciliation of
these opposites,
A triumph of life,
Not over death,
But beside it.
The lovely,
Carefree maiden and queen of death are both aspects of the divine feminine,
Dark
to light,
Hidden to visible.
The hidden side of femininity is associated with death,
Darkness,
Irrationality,
And descent
into the unknown.
The visible brings fertility,
New life,
Creativity,
Love,
And possibility.
Speaking literally,
Descent into the dark soil is what allows new life to spring forth
on the surface of our awareness.
And again,
When life is complete,
It returns to the depths for renewal.
As women,
This process is understood deeply by our bodies,
Which are tuned into the rhythms
of fertility and reproduction.
Logic is linear,
But life is cyclical.
No matter how much we try to force ourselves into a purely logical,
Linear lifestyle,
Ultimately
our own bodies bear witness to the cyclical nature of life.
When we ignore,
Suppress this embodied knowledge,
We can end up alienated from our pleasure,
Purpose,
And power.
Honoring the feminine means descending into the depths to claim our highest truth and
purpose so we can express it to the world.
The dark or hidden side of femininity is revered and feared for its power and soul of depth.
The Greeks named their ships after women,
Calling down protection from sea and storm
from the goddesses.
The oracles of Delphi were feminine,
And until recently,
We named all of our hurricanes and
storms in the feminine.
This powerful side can evoke fear,
Wonder,
Awe,
And amazement.
The light or visible side is adored and celebrated for its beauty,
Radiance,
And fullness.
We can see ourselves in the moon,
Which has long been associated with the feminine and
the cyclical dialect of nature.
Just like you,
The moon has different phases,
Enters a hidden period,
And is unapologetically
radiant in her full glory.
Take a moment to contemplate all the sides of you,
The versions you understand,
The versions
you don't.
Times when you are carefree and loving,
Moments when you are a slayer.
Bask in the luxuriousness of the full feminine glory.
Open your mind to the full spectrum of who you are and can yet be.
You contain multitudes.
Don't pick a version and wear it every day so that others might better understand you.
Hold space for them all.
Flow between them at will with the knowledge that you are capable of anything.
You are capable of anything.
