Our minds and our lives are often full. When we feel stressed or stuck, it can be helpful to remember that our essence is one of space. The sky serves as a frequent reminder of that space, so we can breathe it in and embody that spacious openness. In that space, it's a little easier to relax into being and presence.

As you move into a comfortable position,

Let the words of the Upanishads,

One of the oldest spiritual texts on earth,

Ring through your mind.

As great as the infinite space beyond is the space within the lotus of the heart.

Both heaven and earth are contained in that inner space.

Both fire and air,

Sun and moon,

Lightning and stars.

Whether we know it in this world or know it not,

Everything is contained in that inner space.

Now let yourself dwell in space for a moment as you close your eyes and let your attention rest on your body.

Seeing if you can let your attention move to all of you,

The borders of your skin,

The ways that you take up space in the room,

The space inside containing all the physical parts of you working in balance and harmony.

And noticing that underlying it all is space.

From the densest,

Most physical aspects of your being to the lightest,

Most resonant with spirit,

You are space.

And in this space,

The essence of your being,

We can allow ourselves to rest for just a little while.

Letting your attention rest on your breathing,

Noticing that as you breathe in,

Space increases.

And as you breathe out,

A different kind of space returns.

Following your breathing,

You sustain a kind of space,

The space in mind and body,

Space in your emotions and in your field.

It's in this place,

This space,

Where you're just resting with your breath,

That inner being can begin to come forth.

So let yourself just breathe for a moment,

Following the air as it moves in,

And then following it as you release once again.

Letting your attention rest on your breathing,

Experiencing the lightest,

Most resonant space.

As you let your awareness move from your breath,

You can pay attention to any lingering thoughts,

Concerns,

The energetic baggage from your day and from your experience.

And as you discover these,

You can gently begin to let them go one by one,

Seeing them like clouds drifting,

Moving away,

Leaving you feeling lighter as they rise to the sky and become clouds that slowly drift.

All you have to do is let each one go as you become aware.

And one by one,

These balloons will drift and become clouds that slowly dissolve as they leave you returning to a bright,

Clear,

Blue sky,

The sky of your spaciousness,

The openness and clarity of your true nature.

Letting your attention rest on your breathing,

Experiencing the lightest,

Most resonant space.

Letting your attention rest on your breathing,

Letting your attention rest on your breathing,

Letting your attention rest on your breathing,

Experiencing the lightest,

Most resonant space.

Letting your attention rest on your breathing.

Calling to mind the sky once again so that the image is strong and clear.

And as you breathe in,

Let the essence of this sky move in,

Moving into your mind,

Your body,

Into the space of your being,

The space of your field,

Just receiving this sky and letting it merge with the sky that's already inside.

So so you you This openness is always here because this is who you are As you begin to return your attention to your body to the place and the space that you sit Hold the image of the sky Let it be alive in your mind and your heart and your belly and your root As you center yourself completely now wiggling fingers and toes you can breathe in and open your eyes Carry the sky with you.

Thank you.
