Please join me in one of my favorite mindfulness practices.
Grab your hot tea or coffee or even just a simple glass of water and we will use these next few moments to deeply connect to our innermost wisdom,
This present moment.
So find yourself in a comfortable seat.
Grab your mug or glass and wrap your hands gently around.
Either close the eyes down or gaze at your drink and begin to breathe slow and deep coming into this present moment.
Notice the sensation on your fingertips and the palms of your hands.
Notice the warmth or coolness.
Notice the texture.
Maybe it's smooth or has some rough edges.
Using your sense of touch to be here now.
Breathing a little bit more deeply.
Connecting into every inhale and exhale while noticing the sensation at your hands.
Now bring your beverage up towards your nose and breathe in the aroma as you're breathing in this scent.
Just notice sweetness or bitterness and then when you feel ready slowly begin to sip.
Notice the sensation at your lips,
Your teeth and your tongue.
Maybe holding the liquid in your mouth just for a few moments before swallowing and noticing it go down your throat,
Blessing your whole body.
And then as you continue to sip,
Allow these words of blessings to wash over you.
I am blessed with so much joy today.
I am blessed with so much compassion for myself and for others.
I am blessed to have a physical body that moves with ease and grace.
I am blessed to have a mind that thinks amazing beautiful thoughts.
I am blessed with a soul that has great wisdom and I trust my intuition.
I am blessed.
I am so grateful.
I am blessed.
And then sending in any other blessings as you savor this moment.
As you savor this ritual noticing the touch on your hands,
Your lips,
Your teeth,
The smell and then ever so slowly blinking the eyes and looking up out over your drink.
Taking in all the beauty of this day.
