Blessings,
My name is Brenda Cary and my intention is to create a sanctuary for the sensitive soul to love themselves into healing.
And when I do find myself overwhelmed and feeling hopeless about the state of the world,
I turn to a practice traditionally called Metta,
Oftentimes called Loving Kindness.
Join in this practice with me,
Share it with other sensitive souls,
Because we are all in this healing journey together.
So let's begin.
Begin by finding a place of stillness.
Creating a sacred pause in your day to bring in loving kindness.
Bring your attention to your heart center and imagine a warm,
Gentle light glowing there,
A healing color of your choice.
And as your breath deepens,
Allow this light to expand from your heart center,
Filling your entire being with warmth and love.
From this sacred place,
Picture yourself in your very best light,
Saying to yourself,
May I be safe and protected.
May I be at ease.
May I be truly grateful.
May I be at peace.
Drawing a deep breath in,
Cleansing breath out.
Now bring to mind someone you care deeply about.
It could be a friend,
A family member,
Or a pet,
And picture them clearly in your mind.
Extending that warm light from your heart to theirs,
As you say to them,
May you be safe and protected.
May you be at ease.
May you be truly grateful.
May you be at peace.
Drawing a deep breath in,
And cleansing breath out.
Now expand your awareness to include your wider community,
Your neighbors,
Your colleagues,
The local area in which you live.
Visualize this group of people.
Extend that warm light from your heart to theirs,
As you say,
May we be safe and protected.
May we be at ease.
May we be truly grateful.
May we be at peace.
Drawing a deep breath in,
And breath out.
Finally,
Let your awareness expand to encompass the entire world.
Visualize the planet Earth with all its diverse life forms.
Extend that warm light from your heart to everyone.
Every being on the planet.
Saying to them all,
May all beings be safe and protected.
May all beings be at ease.
May all beings be truly grateful.
May all beings be at peace.
Drawing a deep breath in,
Final breath out.
Take a moment to notice how you feel.
Remember that this gentle revolution of loving kindness starts within you,
And then ripples outward.
May we all be filled with loving kindness.
And so it is.
