Sleep & Relaxation With Affirmations

If Affirmations can be used to manifest abundance, then why can't they be used to manifest quality sleep? In this meditation, Saqib will guide you through an affirmation based practice that will provide you ultimate relaxation, and eventually, quality sleep!

A very warm welcome to you.

I am your guide Saqib and in this meditation we will use the power of affirmations for having quality sleep and relaxation.

We won't say affirmations like,

I want this or I desire that.

Such statements indicate that what we desire is outside and external to us.

Instead,

We will use more powerful affirmations like,

I am that.

This indicates that whatever we desire is within us,

The deep rest,

Calmness,

Peace and quality sleep that we desire is within us.

We just have to tap into these potentials.

I also want to tell you that I am sending my loving energy to you.

My energy will protect you and together we will reach the state of ultimate rest and relaxation.

I love you.

So without further ado,

Let's get started.

I will now request you to lie down in a comfortable position.

Keep your eyes open for now.

I will prompt you to close them soon.

And now just be aware of your external surroundings.

Scan around the space or the room that you are in.

Feel the air touching your skin.

Feel the smell in the air.

Feel the weight of your body on the mattress.

And listen to the sounds around you.

Notice what is there in your line of sight.

Is it the roof or is it a wall?

Scan the entire roof or wall or whatever is there in your line of sight.

If it is too dark and you can't see anything,

Just simply gaze into the darkness.

And now bring your focus to a single point on the roof,

The wall or any single point in the darkness in the line of your sight.

And just gaze at this point for some time.

Let your gaze be a soft gaze.

And strain your eyes.

Now gradually close your eyes.

Now let's together set our intention for having quality sleep.

I will say the words of intention and either you can repeat after me in your heart or just listen to my words.

It's up to you.

I give deep rest and relaxation to my mind and my body.

I give deep rest and relaxation to my mind and my body.

I give deep rest and relaxation to my mind and my body.

Now we will bring our intention into manifestation by visualizing it.

So visualize yourself in your imagination that you are sleeping deeply with full rest and relaxation.

See that there is peace within you.

There is a faint smile on your face while you are sleeping.

The smile is due to the deep rest and relaxation that your mind and body has achieved.

Feel that peace and relaxation in your mind and the whole body.

And so now let's start with the affirmation practice.

This affirmation practice has three parts to it.

In the first step we will breathe in the affirmation.

In the second step we will say the affirmation.

And in the third step we will feel the affirmation.

So now bring your focus to your breathing.

And as you inhale,

Breathe in happiness.

And as you exhale,

Breathe out any sadness if there is any inside you.

And now I will say the words of affirmation and either you can simply listen to me or just quietly repeat in your heart.

I am happy.

And now feel that happiness filling your mind and body.

Now breathe in gratitude and breathe out complaining.

I am grateful.

Feel that your entire being filled with gratitude.

Breathe in great health and breathe out any discomfort.

I am healthy.

And now feel that health and vitality in your mind and body.

Breathe in light and breathe out darkness.

I am the light.

And feel your entire body filling with light.

Breathe in positivity and breathe out negativity.

I am optimistic.

And now feel that optimism in your mind and heart.

Breathe in compassion and breathe out anger.

I am compassionate.

And feel your heart filled with compassion.

Breathe in abundance and breathe out lack.

I am abundant.

And feel that abundance fill your entire being.

Breathe in peace and breathe out any stress.

I am peaceful.

And feel that peace settling in your mind and body.

Breathe in love and breathe out fear.

I am love.

And feel your soul,

Your heart,

Your mind,

Your body and the entire universe filled with love.

Breathe in rest and breathe out agitation.

I am restful.

And feel that rest settling in your mind and body.

Breathe in relaxation and breathe out restlessness.

I am relaxed.

And feel your mind and entire body get relaxed.

And now you will one by one relax each and every part of the body.

So bring your awareness at the top of your head.

And feel the top of your head relaxing.

And now bring your awareness to your forehead.

And feel your forehead relaxing.

Bring your awareness to your face.

And feel your face relaxing.

Bring your awareness to your neck.

And feel your neck relaxing.

Place your awareness on your shoulders now.

And feel your shoulders relaxing.

Bring your awareness to your arms and hands.

And feel your arms and hands relaxing.

Bring your awareness to your chest and abdomen.

And feel your chest and abdomen relaxing.

Bring your awareness to your back.

And feel your back relaxing.

Bring your awareness to your pelvis.

And feel your pelvis relaxing.

And finally bring your awareness to your legs and feet.

And feel your legs and feet relaxing.

Now check if there are any thoughts in your mind right now.

Imagine these thoughts as bubbles,

Like soap bubbles,

Floating in front of you,

With each thought representing one bubble.

In your imagination,

Pop these bubbles of thoughts one by one with a slight touch of your finger.

Just in your imagination.

And now let's be thankful for this ultimate relaxation that the universe has given us.

I will be saying the words of gratitude and you can simply listen to my words.

I thank you universe for providing me deep rest and relaxation.

I thank you universe for providing me deep rest and relaxation.

I thank you universe for providing deep rest and relaxation to my mind and my body.

The gateway to the world of sleep is through the heart.

So now we will journey from our mind to our heart and into a place of silence and stillness where we will rest,

Relax and sleep deeply.

For this we will move our awareness from the mind to the throat,

To the heart and into that place of silence and stillness.

And bring your awareness now at the center of your forehead.

Gradually move your awareness downwards and place your awareness at your throat,

At the center of your neck.

Now move your awareness further downwards and place it at the center of your chest.

From here we will journey inwards to a place of silence,

A place of stillness,

A place of pure being.

This place is deep within you.

This place is your sanctuary.

You can rest,

Relax and sleep deeply in your sanctuary.

Just descend down into your sanctuary as I guide you.

I will be counting back from 10 to 1 and as I do so with each count,

Imagine and feel as if you are descending one step into your sanctuary.

Let's begin.
