Take these few moments to rediscover your song.
Your song of unconditional self-love.
Find a quiet place and move your attention gently to your breath.
Observe each breath as it happens.
No need to control or force your breath.
There is nothing to judge.
Nothing to correct.
Nothing to do differently.
Feel the sensation of breathing as it moves in and out of your body.
As you move through this meditation,
You may find that your mind wanders.
If you notice this happening,
Simply acknowledge your mind wandering and gently bring your focus back to your breath.
Breathing.
Breathing will fill you with calm and power as you stay connected to this moment.
When did you lose your voice?
When did your soul stop singing?
Many survivors of narcissistic abuse state that they didn't feel free to be themselves.
They didn't feel free to speak.
They didn't feel free to let their song of love enrich the world.
Their song,
Our song,
And the power within it was gone.
Taken by someone without a song of their own.
Think back.
What made you so attractive at the beginning?
Your passion for living.
Your strong energy for life that flowed through you like a song.
To keep the song streaming from you and into them,
A narcissist will rely upon your empathy.
They rely upon your pity.
They rely upon your tender heart.
They rely mostly upon your life force.
Their song of life is something they need desperately to fill the void within themselves.
Do you remember a time your body reacted to something that just didn't feel right?
Did your skin get hot?
Your stomach clench?
Your palms sweaty?
Did you share your thoughts or feelings only to have them invalidated?
The narcissist relies upon you believing that what they say sounds smart and reasonable.
Your body and mind is telling you something different and yet you started to question yourself.
Question what your body knew was true.
Your song was shut down in that moment.
That may have just been one of many things that caused you to lose the strength of your song.
Through the years of hidden abuse,
The song within you slowly diminished,
Quieted,
Without you noticing the cause.
The words of your song judged to be lacking and senseless and you found yourself erasing them.
Perhaps you noticed the change and accepted this as who you were,
Who you had become.
You couldn't understand why your singing had stopped,
But you were sure it was something within you that was responsible for the change.
Because of the abuse,
You have received the damaging message that you and your song are not worthy of kindness,
Love,
And respect.
And you now perhaps wonder if you can even remember the words to your song from so long ago.
You have been through enough and now it is time to heal and restore the truth of how beautiful and valuable you and your song are to the universe.
You are kind,
Genuine,
Loving,
Tender,
And unbelievably strong.
Breathe deeply.
Breathe and sing out the truth of this.
You are safe to sing now.
Your voice and song are as sweet as the birds in the trees.
This is the truth of who you are.
You are full of life.
Let your new song of life and love pour forth.
Letting your song flow through you will heal the wounds.
Feel yourself while you enrich the world around you with your song.
Let your new song flow through you.
Let your new song flow through you.
