Take a moment,

Settle into the space where you're seated.

Resting,

Yet alert in an upright position.

Hands in your lap.

Maybe facing your palms up if it's comfortable for you.

Closing your eyes or softening your gaze.

Whatever works for you in this moment.

And as you sit in this space,

Begin to notice where in your body you feel your breath the strongest.

Maybe it's the rise and fall of your chest.

The temperature of the air coming in and out through your nose.

Or perhaps you feel an expansion and contraction of your belly.

Staying with your breath.

Not trying to change it in any way.

Just being with it.

Bring to mind the image of a mountain.

Could be one that you've seen in real life.

Or maybe something you've seen in a movie or in a photograph.

Wherever you've seen it,

Bringing it to mind and starting to notice all the qualities that this mountain has.

Noticing its wide,

Sturdy base.

Noticing its grandeur as it reaches up from the earth to the heavens.

Though you may not see its peak if it's under cloud cover.

You know that it's there supported by its stable base.

Notice its beauty.

And strength.

Its unwavering stability.

No matter what type of weather it endures.

While sometimes it glows under bright sunlight and light,

Airy clouds.

There are other times.

It endures relentless rain and storms that may seem to never let up.

Still this mountain stands tall.

Imagine for a moment that you can take on the qualities of this majestic mountain.

That you can sense in to that stability where the base is rooted to the earth.

Sensing in to rising up.

Reaching for the sky.

Absolutely limitless.

Wearing and beautiful.

You share in the massiveness and stillness.

The majesty of your mountain.

Even though the weather around you may change.

You remain.

Rooted down.

And rising up.

Stable and dignified.

Strong and stable.

Knowing that at any time you can come back to your mountain.

To your unwavering strength.

No matter the weather.

Breathing in to your expansiveness.

And unwavering stability.

Picturing in your mind.

To your mountain.

Honoring all weather that passes by.

All emotions that you experience.

You'll take a few more breaths here.

Feeling the expansiveness of your mountain.

Breathing down in your stability.

And whenever you're ready,

I invite you to open your eyes.
