Settle into your space,
Making any adjustments that you need.
Maybe taking that nice big breath with an audible sigh,
Inhaling.
We'll do another one like that.
Bring your shoulders up to your ears and on the exhale,
Signaling to your nervous system that it's time to pause.
Starting to scan down now,
All the way down from the top of your head,
Through your forehead,
By softening your eyes,
Relaxing your jaw,
Coming down your neck,
Maybe further releasing your shoulders,
In through your torso,
Your arms and hands,
All the way through your legs,
Down to the tip of your toes,
Arriving in your body,
In the space and time.
If you haven't already,
I invite you to close your eyes and imagine for a moment that it's a year from now and you're on the other side of this change that you've been seeking and working toward.
It is now an effortless part of your day.
It's become a part of who you are and what you do.
As you sit on the other side of this change,
Reaping the benefits,
Feeling satisfied in the work and effort that you put in,
Imagine yourself back to today.
You are in the future imagining today,
Which is now your past.
What do you see yourself doing today to build toward that change?
What wisdom can you,
A year from now,
Offer?
No matter the size of the action that you take,
Small or large,
What do you see yourself doing today to contribute to the change you'd like to see a year from now?
Maybe you see yourself making a choice or engaging in a daily habit.
And looking back from that future self perspective,
That finish line,
So to speak,
What choices do you see clearly that you can make today to get you there?
Not looking outside of ourselves or comparing ourselves to others or for someone else or something to help us or make it happen for us,
But moving down beneath the head and the thought process and feeling into your heart or your belly or wherever your place of knowing is.
Your body is speaking to you.
Sometimes we just need to pause to listen and it may take dropping out of our head that works so hard to rationalize things and figure everything out,
Getting out of our thoughts and sensing into the body and feeling the answers come up for you from your body.
The wisdom of self.
And whether you'd like to call it your inner knowing or your future self,
There is something that lies within us that knows the answers.
If we can quiet our minds long enough and listen,
We can hear them.
We'll take a moment now just to sit in silence together and I'll watch the time.
Go on.
Feeling into and sensing into that place of knowing,
What would your future self tell you about this moment?
What choice can you make today that will get you to where you want to be a year from now?
See yourself making those choices.
All of the details.
See if you can feel the satisfaction knowing that you are on a trajectory toward where you would like to go.
Is there anything else that your body would like to share?
Your inner knowing,
Your future self.
Knowing that you can go here at any time,
Dropping into that place,
Outside of your mind,
Outside of your busy thoughts for answers.
See yourself making those choices that support where you would like to go one more time.
And then go ahead and bring some movement back to your fingers and your toes.
Maybe giving yourself a stretch.
Taking one of those nice big breaths with an audible exhale,
Inhaling.
Thank you for practicing with me today.
