Welcome to this stress reset practice.
Today we will focus on providing your body with a cue of safety to influence your stress in the area of your eyes,
Experimenting with your dominant sense of vision.
Taking a brief moment,
Getting any last movements out,
Knowing that you can always shift or move at any time.
You are in control of your experience.
And we're going to begin with our eyes open.
As you settle in,
Just noticing your feet on the floor,
The weight of your body on the surface below you,
And that surface holding and supporting you at this moment.
And then looking if you can about 10 feet in front of you,
Or perhaps gazing out of a window if possible.
And see if you can expand your vision into a more panoramic view.
So you're taking in what's to the right of you,
To the left of you,
What's above you,
And what's below you.
Re-experimenting with just picturing yourself in this space.
And we'll rest here for five breaths.
Being gentle with yourself if you notice your vision shifting in closer.
And just experimenting with beginning again.
Vision shifting gears now,
Bring your palms together and begin rubbing them quickly,
Generating some heat.
In placing them gently on either side of your nose,
Eyes open or closed,
Blocking out the light.
And resting here gently for three breaths.
Maybe the heat has dissipated by now and just bringing them together gently one more time,
Rubbing them together and gently cumping them over your eyes once more for three breaths.
Keeping your eyes covered,
I invite you to return your attention to that sense of your feet on the floor,
The weight of your body on the surface below you,
And that surface holding and supporting you in this moment.
And we'll close by taking a nice big inhale through our nose and letting it out with an audible sigh through our mouth.
Inhaling,
Releasing your hands,
Opening your eyes if they were closed,
And coming back to this space.
Thank you.
