Ever since I was a teenager,
I've been struggling with pollen allergy for a few months every year.
Since I've lived most of my life in cities,
It didn't affect me that much,
So taking a few medications was enough for me.
Last year I moved to the countryside and experienced the hay fever quite severely.
This year I decided to take measures,
And for the first time I haven't taken any medications and experienced it mildly.
In this recording,
I will tell you the steps that I took and focus especially on the third one.
Since all allergies have the same core,
Anyone with an allergy will find this recording helpful.
The first step that I took was to make sure that I physically do everything that I can to ease the symptoms.
The second step was to follow a diet that will once again diminish these symptoms.
And the third one is to listen to a meditation that helped me repattern my body-mind,
So that it changes its reaction to this external stimuli.
Let me share this third step with you.
Take a deep breath in.
And close your eyes.
Non-duality teaches that our true self is awareness.
And this awareness is ever-present,
Allows everything to be exactly as it is,
And is changeless,
Therefore untouched by experience.
The more we recognize this about our true self,
The more this knowing descends and permeates the body-mind,
So that it also begins having the same qualities as awareness.
An allergy is a fearful reaction,
A strong identification with the body-mind and with the sense of being unsafe.
What we will do in this meditation is remind the body-mind that it is actually safe.
Take a few deep breaths.
And then imagine the very thing that you are allergic to.
To be around you.
To touch your body.
To touch your body.
Or if it's anything like pollen,
To enter your body.
Relax your body,
From the top of your head,
All the way down to the tip of your toe.
There is nothing to be fearful of here.
This very relaxation is what we are now teaching the body to do in these same circumstances.
Just breathe and relax,
Even as this substance that you are allergic to is around you and on your body.
Imagine radiating peace and relaxation,
Even as that is happening.
Let the nature of awareness and the qualities of awareness become embodied in your body-mind.
You are fearless,
Open,
Free.
Relax.
At peace.
You allow everything to be exactly as it is.
That's it.
You have now created a new pattern for the body-mind to follow.
In the past it would have reacted with fear.
But now it knows that there is nothing to be afraid of.
It can remain at peace,
Present and relaxed,
Independent of circumstances.
