Welcome,
Beautiful soul.
All of us find ourself sometimes feeling low,
Or under the weather,
Or having our blues.
No matter what we call those days,
Those are the days when something within is shifting,
Something is uncomfortable and needs to be observed and noticed.
So I've created this meditation to invite you and sit side by side with the lows.
Close your eyes gently,
Let your shoulders soften,
Let your breath find its own rhythm.
There is nowhere else to be but here,
Now.
This moment is an invitation,
Not to escape,
But to return.
Feel your body supported by the ground beneath you.
The earth is holding you,
You don't need to hold everything yourself.
If there is a low present,
An ache,
A heaviness,
A wave of worry,
Often we try to suppress it or push it away,
Pretending that we haven't realized or we are too busy.
I invite you to gently welcome it in.
You don't have to like it,
You only need to acknowledge it.
Let it sit beside you like a quiet companion,
No fixing,
No running,
Just presence.
Bring your breath to where the discomfort lives in your body,
Maybe it trembles,
Maybe it hides behind the chest or hums in the belly.
Just notice,
Breathe in and as you breathe out,
Whisper,
I am here,
I am listening.
I am here,
I am listening.
I am here,
I am listening.
Now,
Imagine a lighthouse within you,
You may feel it and the picture might be abstract or you can see it into big details.
It is your lighthouse and maybe its glow is soft right now,
Barely visible,
That's okay,
The light hasn't gone out,
It's simply asking to be tended.
Each breath fans the flame gently,
No rush,
No pressure,
Just breath and attention.
If you keep on tending to the lighthouse,
It will guide you through your lows.
It will help you.
And as you sit with your lows,
Feel the warmth of compassion growing around it.
Seeing the lighthouse shining and guiding you on to your path of knowing,
Realising that the lows are part of you.
And as dark the days might seem,
The lighthouse is showing you that the clouds can be lifted and you can see brighter.
You are not broken or you are not behind,
You are becoming.
These moments are not your undoing,
They are your remembering.
Place a hand on your heart or your belly or both,
Wherever it feels right,
And whisper to yourself,
I can walk side by side with this,
I don't need to push it away to be whole.
Take one more breath,
Slowly,
Gently.
When you're ready,
Open softly your eyes,
Noticing that softness spreading through you,
Allowing you to not be overwhelmed by the lows.
But rather,
Sitting side by side with them,
And they might even gently disappear because you acknowledge them.
And this soft acknowledging carries you through the day,
Like a light from within.
