In Western society, we are so "brain" focused -- so much that we start to confuse reality with our thoughts and emotions. This meditation focuses the breath on the heart and creates an awareness of a listening heart.

In today's meditation,

We will focus our breath on our heart and let an awareness of our heart fill our in-breath and our out-breath.

In Western society,

We're so brain-focused.

We start to confuse life and reality with our thoughts and our emotions.

As we meditate today,

Let's give our brain a break and feel with our heart and let our heart awareness guide us.

I call this a listening heart.

If your brain interrupts with thoughts or emotions,

That's okay.

Just gently refocus on the breath and the feeling of your heart.

Let's start our meditation with three deep cleansing breaths.

Let your breath resume its natural rhythm.

As you breathe,

Feeling the sensation of the air coming in through your nostrils,

Into your diaphragm and down to your belly.

Breathing out,

Feel the sensation of the air passing out of your body.

Breathe in through your heart and breathe out through your heart.

Breathe in through your heart.

Breathing in,

I have an open heart.

Breathing out an open heart.

Breathing in through your heart.

Breathing out through your heart.

Breathing in through your heart.

Breathing in.

Feel the energy of reality pass through your heart.

Breathing out the flow of energy.

Breathing in a listening heart.

Breathing out a listening heart.

Breathing out a listening heart.

Breathing out a listening heart.

Breathing out a listening heart.

Listen to the sounds of reality pass through your heart on your in-breath.

And breathing out the sounds of reality.

The chirping bird.

The gentle breeze rustling the leaves.

A dog barking.

A car passing by.

A child Alright.

Breathing in,

The sounds passing through your heart.

Breathing out,

The gentle song of reality.

Breathing out,

The gentle song of reality.

Breathing out,

The gentle song of reality.

Breathing in,

The energy of reality warms your heart.

And breathing out,

The gentle song of reality flows out through your heart.

Breathing out,

The gentle song of reality warms your heart.

Feel the energy of reality warm your heart.

And let the glow spread out throughout your body like a bright light.

And now we're going to take the energy of reality that has filled our listening heart and send it out in living kindness and an intention for all people.

To our loved ones,

Our families,

May we be peaceful and happy.

May we be healthy and safe.

May we be free from suffering.

May we prosper and be one in love.

And now to all of our friends and acquaintances,

People we see and interact with on a day-to-day basis.

May we be peaceful and happy.
