This meditation will support you in opening your first energy center, the Root Chakra. This energy center represents our connection to the physical world. When it is open, we experience a sense of safety and trust that all of our physical needs are being met. We experience presence in each moment, grounding, and balance.

This meditation will support you in opening your first energy center,

The root chakra.

This energy center represents our connection to the physical world.

When it is open,

We experience a sense of safety and trust that all of our physical needs are being met.

We experience presence in each moment,

Grounding and balance.

To begin,

Find a comfortable place to lie down.

Place your arms at your sides and uncross your ankles.

You may want to place a pillow or bolster under your knees to support your low back.

Gently close your eyes and begin following your breath,

Inhaling and exhaling through the nose.

Notice how it feels to breathe in this moment.

And now I invite you to take three healing breaths,

Visualizing a beautiful white light coming into your being,

Pausing and holding the light in,

And then slowly exhaling out anything that no longer serves you at this time.

Take two more breaths in this way.

Beginning now to soften your physical body,

Consciously releasing any tension or holding that you feel in the muscles,

The joints,

And even your organs,

Allowing the body to become soft and still.

And now starting to let go of your mind and all of the different roles that you play in your life.

And as you release all of those roles,

You release all of the stories that go along with each one of those roles,

Not having to be any one of them in this moment.

In releasing your physical body and your mind with all the roles and stories of your life,

You release the parts of yourself that are temporary to this lifetime and create more space to connect to the part of you that is infinite.

This is your higher self,

The true essence of your soul.

And from this place,

I'd like you to begin visualizing yourself in a beautiful forest.

And once you see yourself in this beautiful forest,

I'd like you to look down into the earth,

Seeing all of the roots of the trees in the ground.

And as you see all the roots of the trees in the ground,

You start to notice that these roots are intertwining,

Forming a circle around you.

So visualizing a circle of roots growing in the ground around you,

Rooting down deep into the earth.

And once you see that this circle of roots is complete,

You start to notice the trunks of the trees growing up out of the ground and toward the light of the sun,

Seeing these beautiful pillars of strength,

Support,

And protection growing up all around you.

And once that circle of tree trunks is complete,

You start to see the branches of the trees growing out of the trunks and up toward the light of the sun.

And you start to notice that the branches of the trees are intertwining as well,

Almost as if they are locking arms or holding hands,

Further reinforcing this circle of safety and protection,

So that no matter what is going on in the world outside of this circle of trees,

You stay centered and focused on your journey inward.

So now that this circle of trees is complete,

I'd like you to visualize yourself lying down in the center of this circle,

Feeling the support of the soft earth beneath your back.

You feel your body completely relaxed as you allow the arms of Mother Earth to hold you.

And in this space,

Mother Earth asks you to surrender or release any pain you experience in your physical body.

She tells you that she will absorb and transform it into something useful for the planet.

And as you surrender and release your physical pain into the arms of Mother Earth,

You start to feel a sense of lightness in your physical body.

And once you feel this sense of lightness in your being,

You realize that you are completely safe and supported by the earth,

That you do not lack anything.

You have shelter from the trees around you,

Clean water from the springs and streams around,

Food from the plants,

Trees,

And ground.

And while we can't always predict the earth's movements and undulations,

There's a deep sense of peace that all is in balance and as it should be.

You feel yourself as part of the earth,

Not separate from her.

And from this moment on,

You,

The earth,

And all of its creatures are one being,

One energy,

That aligns to create balance and harmony.

So staying here in this symbiotic state for 3 more breaths,

And when you're ready,

Slowly starting to deepen your breath again,

Feeling the rise and the fall of the chest,

Starting to come back into the physical body now,

Becoming aware of your hands and your feet,

Your arms and your legs,

Your torso and your chest,

Your neck and your head.

And when you're ready,

Slowly and gently opening your eyes halfway first,

Before fully opening them,

Coming back into the present moment,

Feeling grounded and centered.
