This meditation is perfect for starting off your day feeling refreshed,
Renewed,
And empowered.
Find a comfortable seated meditation posture.
I recommend sitting on the edge of your bed before getting up to do anything else.
Feel your feet on the floor beneath you,
And rest your palms facing down on the tops of your thighs.
Gently close your eyes and begin following your breath,
Inhaling and exhaling through the nose.
Notice how it feels to breathe in this moment.
And now I invite you to take three healing breaths,
Visualizing a beautiful white light coming into your being,
Pausing and holding the light in,
And then slowly exhaling out anything that no longer serves you at this time.
Take two more breaths in this way.
Feel free to resume normal breathing at this time.
And now I would like you to visualize yourself in beautiful Monument Valley in the American Southwest.
You start to see the red and orange earth and the giant towering mesas in the vast and open valley.
You see one of these giant sandstone formations and you start walking with your bare feet towards it.
The sun has yet to rise,
And you want to welcome this new day from the top of one of the mesas.
You reach the base of one of the mesas and look up.
There's a moment of hesitation as you ask yourself,
Can I climb this?
At that moment,
You notice one of the wild horses of the valley has approached you.
The presence of this beautiful creature assures you that you can,
That you are strong,
Powerful and capable of achieving anything.
And so you find yourself beginning to climb up the face of this giant rock formation.
You feel the stones beneath your hands and your feet.
You feel connected to the rock and supported by Mother Earth.
Each movement up the mesa brings you closer to the promise of light.
You find yourself approaching the flat top of the mesa.
Surprised at how simple it seemed to reach,
You locate the perfect spot to sit down.
And as you do so,
You feel your sit bones connected to the rock and your spine elongated toward the sky.
You start to see the sun rising up from the horizon in the most beautiful golden hue.
As the sun travels further up into the sky,
It starts to illuminate the red and orange sandstone all around you.
In this moment,
You set your intention for the day.
What do you want to accomplish?
What word or energy would you like to carry with you?
What do you feel you need more of in your life right now?
Once your intention is set,
Place it in your heart and bring your hands to it.
Place your heart and bring your hands to prayer position in the center of your chest.
Feel the warmth of the sun on your face,
Charging and holding you in the light of your intention.
Feel the power and life-giving energy of the sun,
Giving you the confidence and strength to go forward intentionally into the rest of your day.
You take a few more moments to look around this vast and magnificent valley with all of the colors illuminated by the light of the sun.
From this place,
You begin your easy and effortless descent down to the valley floor.
You feel your feet firmly planted in the ground again as you affirm,
I am here,
I step into my day intentionally and with confidence.
And so slowly,
Starting to follow your breath again,
Starting to come back into your physical body,
Becoming aware of your hands and your feet,
Your arms and your legs,
Your torso and your chest,
Your neck and your head.
And when you are ready,
Slowly and gently opening your eyes halfway first,
Before fully opening them,
Coming back into the present moment,
Feeling refreshed and ready to take on your day.
