Welcome to this guided meditation on releasing tension from your body.
My name is Joy Brown and I will be guiding you through today's meditation.
To begin,
Take a seat or lay down and close your eyes.
To calm our bodies and mind,
Let's take some deep breaths in.
Fill our chest with air.
Hold for a few seconds and then exhale out through your mouth in a big sigh.
Let your breathing return to normal now.
Make sure your body is as relaxed as you can make it.
Just how you're sitting or laying if needed.
Picture yourself floating on water.
Your head is well above the water.
You can breathe perfectly fine.
You can see the sky,
The clouds,
The sunlight.
The water supports your body and you have no worries.
Place your focus now on your head.
Feel how it's supported.
Focus on your forehead and let it fully relax.
Release any tension.
Bring your attention to your eyes.
Release any tension.
Let your eyes just get heavy.
Now your jaw.
Unclench your jaw.
Just let it hang.
So your whole head is heavy.
Move on to your neck.
Just fully support it.
You can move it back and forth if you need to.
Just release any tension.
Give it permission to relax.
It feels heavy.
Moving down to your shoulders.
Releasing any tension in your arms,
Your elbows,
Your wrists,
Your fingers.
Just let it all get nice and heavy.
Pack your chest.
You're fully supported.
You can feel the support.
There's nothing to worry about.
Just as you breathe,
As you exhale,
Just let everything fall heavy.
Your stomach,
Your lower back,
Your hips.
All tension is being released.
It's all supported.
This nice and heavy feeling.
Your thighs,
Your knees,
Your shins,
Your calves.
All the way down to your ankles.
All tension is gone.
Just nice and supported.
Nice and heavy with relaxation.
Down to your feet,
Your heels,
Your toes.
Wiggle them if you want.
Release all the tension from them through the day.
Get nice and heavy.
Our whole body now is calm and relaxed.
With this heavy yet light feeling as if we're floating on water.
Just relaxing.
Keep your focus on your body.
When your attention moves away,
Just bring it back to different parts of your body.
Just seeking out any other places that need this relaxation energy.
Just enjoy this.
Give gratitude for all you have experienced here today.
Bring your awareness now back to your body.
Back to this moment.
You can open your eyes and begin to move your hands and your fingers.
