Welcome to this guided meditation on embracing vulnerability.
My name is Joy and I will be guiding you in today's meditation.
To begin,
Take a seat or lay down,
Get comfortable,
And close your eyes.
To calm our body and mind,
Take a deep breath in.
Hold for three seconds at the top.
And then exhale out in a large sigh.
Continue taking these deep breaths for one minute.
Let your breathing return to normal now.
Think back to a moment where you could have chose vulnerability and didn't,
Even though it would have been safe to.
Once you have it in your mind.
What emotions arise as you think about this moment?
Now visualize what it would have been like to have opened up.
To have chosen differently.
Don't force anything,
Just let what comes up,
Come.
Did you see things going well?
Did you see them going badly?
Just make a note of that.
Let yourself feel what it brings up inside of you.
If you saw things going well.
Feel into how that feels in your body.
Pay attention to how you feel.
If you saw the interaction or event go badly,
Feel into your body.
There is something deeper within you that wants to make itself known.
Search yourself for any judgment,
Shame,
Or fear.
Let your body respond.
Simply observe what arises and how your body responds.
We often reject opportunities to be vulnerable as a means of protecting ourselves.
Place your hands on your heart.
Repeat after me.
I am safe.
I am protected within.
I cannot be harmed.
I have the ability to let myself be seen by another.
I have the ability to take a risk and grow.
Fear,
Shame,
And judgment do not control me.
I release what no longer serves me.
Blessed Be.
Take a moment and give gratitude for all that has happened here.
Bring your awareness back to your body.
Slowly begin to move and open your eyes.
