Welcome to this guided meditation on clarity of the mind.
My name is Joy Brown and I will be guiding you in today's meditation.
To begin,
Take a seat or lay down,
Get comfortable,
Then close your eyes.
To calm our body and mind,
Take a deep breath in,
Hold for 3 seconds at the top,
And then exhale out in a large sigh.
Continue these deep breaths for a moment.
Let your breathing return to normal now.
In your mind's eye,
Picture a storm cloud above your head.
Take a good look at it,
Its size,
Is it raining,
Lightning,
And think about what that represents to you.
Now as the sun comes out,
Peeking through the storm cloud around your head,
Its rays are warm,
Inviting,
And expanding.
As these sun's rays disperse the clouds,
You feel calmer and more at ease in your mind and body.
The storm cloud is gone now,
Only the warm sun is upon you.
You feel calm.
Now,
Think of your mind's space as a scene,
Maybe a field,
A range of mountains,
Whatever comes to mind.
Focus on it and look for details.
How does this scene feel to you,
Is it calming,
Exciting?
Take a moment to reflect.
This mental scene you have created and looked upon is your place of clarity.
Know that you can come here for clarity anytime and any day,
Whether meditating or not.
When your brain feels overwhelmed or cloudy,
Bring yourself back to this place and focus and welcome clarity.
Give gratitude for all that has happened here.
Bring your awareness back to your body,
Slowly begin to move and open your eyes.
