Happy new moon!
Let's settle into a practice to set our intentions and bring in some gratitude underneath this new moon.
Just like the oceans,
The tides are controlled by the moon,
As are the tides of our soul.
We are made up of water and new moons are the perfect time for setting intentions and settling into stillness to figure out what you want,
Who you want to be,
Uncovering that information about yourself.
So find a comfortable position.
You can sit up supported in a chair or against the wall or you can lay down to allow the body the opportunity to release all tension.
Wherever you are,
Just turn your awareness to the breath.
On the inhale,
The belly rises,
Fills up,
Expands.
And on an exhale,
The belly releases,
The belly button pulls in towards the spine at the back of your body.
And you slowly breathe in through the nose,
Allowing the cool air to move down your throat,
Into the belly and the chest.
And allowing the exhale to leave the same way the breath came,
Through the nose.
And noticing if there's any tension in the jaw.
And on an exhale,
Releasing that tension,
Allowing the jaw to hang open just a little bit,
Removing the tongue from the roof of your mouth.
And on an exhale,
Removing any tension between the brows,
In the cheeks,
Allowing the face to feel like it's melting down towards the floor.
Like candle wax dripping away from an open flame.
Removing tension.
And bringing awareness to the breath.
If you're getting distracted or thoughts are coming up,
That's okay.
It's part of the practice.
And now we pull our awareness back to the inhale.
And now we pull our awareness back to the inhale.
And back to the exhale.
You can say,
I am aware of my inhale as you breathe in.
And I am aware of my exhale as you release.
Settling into stillness for a few moments.
So we can find alignment in your intentions for the next month,
The next cycle of the moon.
And notice if any thoughts are coming up.
Ideas for projects,
Thoughts on conversations you're Thoughts on conversations you're having with friends.
Just notice what's appearing and don't attach.
Allow it to appear and put a pin in it.
I like to place them on imaginary clouds and watch the thought drift away,
Knowing that my intuition and mind will bring it back up when I wake.
And now we're going to take a deep breath in and a deep breath out.
And now we're going to take a deep breath in and a deep breath out.
And now we're going to take a deep breath in and a deep breath out.
And now we're going to take a deep breath in and a deep breath out.
And now we're going to take a deep breath in and a deep breath out.
Allowing them to be,
Allowing your awareness and focus to be on the breath.
New moons are the perfect time to set actual intentions for what you want the next month to look like.
And we have to be smart when making these intentions and knowing that intentions are tied to feelings.
So we're going to spend a few moments with reflection questions and feeling what we want to feel for the next month.
As we move through these,
Remember your breath,
Allowing the belly to expand like a balloon and allowing the breath to release.
What do you want to feel like for the next month?
After you've acknowledged what you want to feel like,
I want you to allow yourself to feel that in your body.
If it's joy,
Is it fluttering in the heart?
Excitement in the belly?
Spend a moment with the breath,
Feeling the feeling that you want to feel for the next month.
And we'll lock in this feeling by taking in a big inhale and on an exhale,
Releasing it to the universe.
Knowing that the intention is enough.
And then we practice releasing and non-attachment.
As you take your next rounds of breath,
I want you to reflect on what you want to accomplish in the next month.
And we'll lock in whatever that is by taking a big inhale and on an exhale,
Releasing it to the universe.
Allowing the breath to flow.
As we move into our final reflection question,
One of the biggest parts of intention setting is living in gratitude,
Being grateful for everything,
The hard times as lessons,
The good times as good times that are eventually going to slip into hard times.
It's the ebb and flow of life.
The good would not be good if we did not know what bad or hard was.
And as you take your next rounds of breath,
I want you to focus on what are you grateful for that has happened to you in the past month.
So from this new moon to the last new moon,
What can you find gratitude for?
And we'll lock this in one last time by taking a big inhale and on an exhale,
Releasing gratitude.
Knowing we are all practicing at every point of life.
We wake up each day and we get to try again.
And it is an art of noticing what is coming up and what is triggering us and releasing our attachments to what we want and having that faith,
That faith that planting the intention,
Planting that seed is enough.
And with new moons,
It will take almost six months,
A full cycle until the full moon in this zodiac sign for your manifestations to lock in.
But you'll start to see progress over the next month because you've decided what's important.
You've set it in this space.
You've set it while you're connected to your breath and your higher self.
Allow the belly to expand fully on each inhale.
And allow yourself to release any resistance to the statements that I just made,
To the statement that you need to let go of control and just have faith.
We're going to start awakening from this practice and we're doing this with intention,
Delicately.
And you can start by noticing your body connected to the earth,
Feeling that connection with mother earth,
The grounding energy,
And gently finding movement in the fingertips,
Moving each finger with intention one by one,
Maybe rolling out the wrists,
Going one way,
Maybe rolling out the wrists,
Going one way,
And reversing the other,
And finding a bit of movement in the toes,
And the ankles.
And on an inhale,
Stretching your hands above your head,
Stretching,
Taking up space like it's the first stretch of the morning.
A moment for you to take up physical room in the universe with your body.
Take up the space.
And on an exhale,
You can allow the arms to release towards your side,
Placing your hands over your heart,
Expressing a bit of gratitude for yourself,
For setting intentions with this new moon.
For having a practice,
For you connecting to earth,
The universe,
The higher consciousness,
Maybe moving the body,
Finding any more movement that you might need to awaken yourself up to the room.
And if you feel ready,
You can allow the eyelids to open,
Allowing light to peek in.
Thank you so much for practicing with me on this new moon.
New moons are great for journaling,
So grab a pen and a piece of paper and write out your thoughts and your intentions.
And if any thoughts came to you,
Any ideas,
You can write them down.
Plant the seed.
You never know what's going to happen over the next few months.
I hope you enjoy the rest of your new moon.
Thank you for practicing with me.
