Dealing With Loneliness

There are times in our lives when we will be overcome with loneliness. This is a mediation to help you find the light within yourself, that's the only way to balance this emotion. Let's spend a few moments together, making you shine again.

If you found yourself here,

You are wanting to acknowledge the loneliness that you're feeling inside.

So find a comfortable posture,

Close your eyes and allow your breath to flow naturally from your nose.

Last night I had this overwhelming feeling of loneliness.

I don't mean that I was alone.

Those are two very different things.

Being lonely is an emotion that comes up when you feel disconnected,

Unhappy or sad.

I feel lonely a lot when it comes to grief that I am working through with losing my dad.

I find the only way to put a pause on this feeling is to get connected to the light within myself and to find the present moment and that's what we're going to do today.

I just want you to focus on the rise and fall of your chest as you inhale and exhale through your nose.

Bring all your attention to your heart,

Your heart chakra.

You can also place a hand on your heart if that feels comfortable for you and just breathe and allow your chest to rise and fall.

With every breath I want you to imagine a bright yellow light shining out of your heart and it gets bigger and brighter with each conscious breath.

Allow yourself to feel the warmth of that light that's coming from inside of you.

The light is now so big that it covers your entire body.

You are covered in your light of love.

Just keep breathing.

Now the light is as big as the entire space you are in,

Covering where you are sitting from wall to wall.

Your light is so bright it's covering the entire room.

With each breath the light gets bigger and it's now as big as your apartment or house that you are in.

Everything is covered with this yellow light of love.

All you have to do is let it shine and let your breath come and go.

Now the light is so bright it's covering the entire block you are on.

It's covering the people,

The trees,

Cars,

The squirrels.

As you continue breathing and you are feeling your heartbeat your light gets bigger.

It's now encompassing the entire city that you are in.

The whole city is covered by your bright yellow light.

And with an inhale it gets even bigger and it covers the state that you are in.

And now the country that you live in.

Now your light is going international and covering all of North America and then all other parts of the globe until finally your light is so bright it's covering the entire planet we call Earth.

Just breathe.

Your light doesn't stop there.

It's going to continue to grow and with each cool breath that enters your nose and leaves your body you get brighter.

Your love now reaches up to the Sun and the moon.

Feel the warmth on your skin.

It's now past the stars and other planets.

Your light is now brighter than the stars in our galaxy.

At this moment your light is covering all of existence and your breath is controlling how bright it is.

Take a few breaths by yourself and sit in the warmth of your light and if you can let a small smile come across your lips and breathe.

We're now going to take a few slow deep belly breaths together.

With each of these breaths your light is going to return back into you until that same energy that you felt in the galaxy is now just in your heart.

Inhale slowly now let the breath go.

Inhale slowly now let the breath go.

One more.

Inhale slowly now let the breath go.

Allow your breath to return to its natural state.

You can drop your hand if you placed it on your heart.

Love and light lives in you at all points in time.

You have to allow it to take up its space to let it help you and the best way to do that is by breathing.

I'm reading a book right now called You Are Here and it talks about what to do when these emotions of pain come up like loneliness.

You can use mindfulness to accept that feeling,

To live in it and to make sure it's okay.

They say breathing in I know that you are there my dear loneliness.

I am there for you.

I will take care of you.

In these final moments I'm going to repeat that and have you say it in your mind's eye.

Breathing in I know that you are there my dear loneliness.

I am there for you.

I will take care of you.

Remember that you are loved.

You are taken care of and you are never alone in your feelings even if you're feeling loneliness.

When you feel prepared to move on in your day find a little bit of movement in your body.

Wiggle your fingers and toes.

I like to end my meditations with one big stretch like it's the first stretch of the day.

Hands over your head.

Place your hand on your heart one more time and thank yourself for showing up today.

Thank yourself for raising the vibration of the earth.

You can open your eyes whenever you are ready.

I hope you continue to shine as brightly as you are now throughout the rest of your day.
