Begin by coming into a comfortable position.
You can choose to stand,
Sit or lie down.
Whatever your body needs right now.
And if you feel safe to do so,
Then allow your eyes to close.
Or alternatively,
You can lower your gaze so you can look downward at the floor.
And now turning your attention inward.
Noticing how with each inhale your body receives.
And with each exhale,
Your body releases.
Allowing your breath to bring you.
Into the here and now.
And once you connect fully with this moment,
Bring to your mind something that is making you feel impatient these days.
So it could be waiting for someone to respond to a message or call.
It could be wanting results.
From your hard work to appear more quickly.
Or perhaps impatience show up for you when you are sitting in traffic,
Or standing in a long line.
And you have to go somewhere Or perhaps you feel impatient.
Because there is a challenge or a difficult season of your life that you want to be quickly over.
Or maybe you are feeling restless with yourself.
Wanting to change,
Grow or heal faster than you are right now.
So choosing something in your life where you feel impatient.
And once you have chosen something,
Then,
Notice.
Wear that feeling of impatience.
Is showing up within you right now.
So impatience might feel like restlessness in your body.
A fluttering sensation.
Feel the contraction in your chest.
Or tingling sensation in your extremities.
So becoming aware of what impatience feels like within your body.
And once you become aware of where it is showing up,
You can acknowledge its presence.
By saying high impatience.
Or there is there is impatience in this part of my body.
For example,
There is the feeling of impatience in my legs.
And now that you have finally paid attention to this part.
Let's offer it some relief.
So,
Imagine with each inhale,
You are breathing in.
A calm and steady energy.
And with each exhale,
You are releasing that sense of urgency.
That need for things to happen right away.
So,
Continue to breathe in this manner.
Breathing in.
Patience.
And breathing out impatience.
Remember as Lao Tzu once sang.
Nature does not hurry.
Yet,
Everything is accomplished.
One moment of patience may ward off great disaster.
And one moment of impatience may ruin a whole life.
So letting this wisdom sink in.
And now,
As you continue to breathe in,
Steadiness and calmness.
And breathe out.
The sense of rush or urgency.
I invite you.
To repeat certain affirmations after me.
Either silently or out loud.
So,
This wisdom can sink deep into your subconscious.
I am patient with myself and my life.
I am patient with myself and my life.
I am patient with myself and my life.
I trust my journey.
I trust my journey.
I trust my journey.
I release the need to rush.
I release the need to rush.
I release the need to rush.
Everything unfolds on its own time.
Everything unfolds on its own time.
Everything unfolds on its own time.
And now as we reach the end of this meditation Take a deep breath in through your nose.
Soaking in the effects of this practice.
And with the exhale letting go of any residual sense of rush or urgency from your body.
And when you are ready to carry this patience into the rest of your day,
Allow yourself to come back.
To your whole body.
So you can begin to bring some small movement like wiggling your toes and your fingers.
Becoming aware of the sounds around you.
And finally,
To connect back fully.
With the place.
With the space around you.
Allow your eyes to gently open.
Welcome back!
