Making sure you're sitting comfortably,
Feet on the floor,
Hands on your lap,
Taking a nice gentle deep breath in and out,
And closing down the eyes,
Allowing your eyes to gently close,
And connecting with your breathing.
Noticing the flow in at the nostrils and down into the chest or the stomach.
Notice the movement of the breath.
I wonder if you can imagine that the in and out breath is expanding within you.
Imagine your entire torso is breathing in and out.
And with the out breath comes a release.
Perhaps you can imagine the arms and the hands are breathing in and out with the torso.
Perhaps you can imagine the legs and the feet are breathing in and out.
And perhaps,
Gently,
You can imagine your entire body breathing in and out.
And on the out breath,
Your entire body releasing and relaxing.
Softening and letting go of any nervous feelings.
Your entire body breathing in and out.
Gently in,
Gently out.
Just allowing it to happen.
Letting the body breathe and relax naturally.
And with a little practice,
You can use this technique at any point,
Even for 5 or 10 seconds,
To ground and centre yourself.
To release any unwanted,
Unneeded nervous feelings.
And taking a gentle stretch now,
And a slightly deeper awakening breath in and out.
And you can open your eyes.
