Boosting your confidence,

Part of a series of self-development programs with Andrew Johnson.

This recording will take you into a state of deep relaxation and as such should never be played in a moving vehicle.

This recording should be listened to sitting or lying down,

Eyes closed.

However,

If you become disturbed during this recording by a doorbell or telephone or someone entering the room,

You can simply open your eyes and you will be fully wide awake.

Now make yourself comfortable.

You can sit or lie down as long as you're comfortable and taking a nice gentle deep breath in and out,

Allow your eyes to comfortably close.

With your eyes comfortably closed,

Take your awareness,

Your conscious mind on a little journey down through your body,

Down through the hips,

Down through the legs,

Down into your feet.

Become aware of all the little muscles that make up your toes,

Your feet,

Your heels and ankles and just let them relax.

Let them go soft,

Limp and slack.

Allow them to relax.

Simply letting your awareness dwell in that area will start the relaxation procedure.

Move up through the ankles into the muscles of the calves,

Letting them relax.

Letting them go soft,

Limp and slack.

Up through the knees into the muscles of your thighs,

Letting those large muscles switch off,

Allowing them to soften,

Allowing them to go limp,

Soft and slack.

As all the little bits of everyday natural tension slowly begin to leave all those muscles in your feet,

Calves and thighs,

You may soon begin to notice a slight feeling of heaviness slowly beginning to build up in your legs.

This is a feeling to be welcomed.

It means the muscles are just starting to slow down and switch off.

So whenever and wherever that heaviness starts to appear,

Welcome it,

Accept it,

Allow it to expand,

Allow it to spread.

Imagine your legs are becoming heavier and heavier.

Move up through the hips into the muscles of your stomach,

Letting your stomach muscles relax.

Letting them go soft,

Limp and slack.

Now the muscles of your chest and all the way down your back and all the way down your sides relaxed.

Soft,

Limp,

Slack and relaxed.

You may soon begin to notice that feeling of heaviness slowly beginning to build up in your body.

Whenever and wherever that heaviness appears,

Welcome it.

Allow it to expand,

Allow it to spread.

Imagine your body becoming heavier and heavier.

Sinking down deeper and deeper into the chair or the bed.

Imagine your body becoming heavy as lead.

Let it relax completely.

Move up once again with your awareness and the relaxation into the neck,

Letting your neck muscles relax.

Letting them go soft,

Limp and slack.

Down now into the shoulders.

This is where many of us hold tension.

So let the shoulders drop,

Let them loosen,

Let them go limp and slack.

And down the arms,

Relaxing.

Down through the elbows,

Relaxing.

Down through the wrists,

Relaxing.

Down into the hands,

Fingers and thumbs.

And you can allow that feeling of heaviness to start appearing in your arms.

As if your arms are becoming heavier and heavier.

Imagine them becoming as heavy as lead.

And as you sit there,

All the way deep down and comfortable in the chair or on the bed,

Your mind calm,

Clear and yet aware of everything around you.

You'll find that this is one of those rare occasions where there's absolutely nothing of any importance for you to do.

Except to listen to the sound of my voice.

The sound of my voice that will help you to relax ever deeper as we go on.

Ever since the day you were born,

You've learned and experienced something every moment of your life.

And all those experiences have been stored away on the back of your mind,

So to speak,

In the form of mental images.

Every second of your life,

Imprinted on your brain cells rather like information on a computer.

Giving you access to vast resources,

Abilities,

Knowledge,

Strength.

And I want you to know there's a very special,

Powerful,

Unique part of you.

Your inner mind,

Your unconscious mind that has full access to all those mental images.

In a few moments in time,

You'll hear me count down from 10 to 1.

And with each descending number between 10 and 1,

You're going to become one tenth more relaxed.

Ten percent more relaxed with each descending number.

Each descending number will help you to drift one tenth deeper into that wonderful state of relaxation.

The light trance state that,

Curiously,

You may find very familiar.

Whilst I'm counting,

You may experience a slight,

Though very pleasant,

Physical sensation.

As if you're floating,

Floating down,

Down into your own inner world.

Down into the part of yourself that contains all your knowledge,

All your resources,

All your abilities,

All your skills.

And as you begin to pay more and more attention to your inner realities,

So you're drifting ever deeper relaxed.

Drifting ever deeper down into the trance.

So ready.

Ten.

Nine.

Deeper and deeper relaxed.

Eight.

Seven.

Deeper and deeper relaxed.

Six.

Five.

Four.

Drifting down,

Ever deeper and deeper relaxed.

Three.

Two.

One.

And all the way down.

Deep down relaxed.

Deeper,

Deeper relaxed.

And staying deeply relaxed,

You may soon find that your mind begins to wander.

And it truly doesn't matter if it does or if it doesn't.

It doesn't matter where your mind goes.

Your voice will be there with you.

My voice will be there drifting with you.

So that you'll continue to benefit from my suggestions,

No matter where you are.

As you drift deeper and deeper relaxed.

In a few moments in time,

You'll hear me say the word,

Now.

And any time that you hear me say the word,

Now.

All the muscles in your body are relaxing,

Just that little bit more.

Allowing your body,

Quite naturally,

Quite automatically,

To sink deeper and deeper relaxed.

More and more limp,

Relaxed and comfortable too.

In fact,

Curiously,

There may be times that your body feels so perfectly,

So pleasantly,

So naturally comfortable,

You may not even be aware of it.

You may not even be aware of your body at all.

So ready.

I'd like you to.

.

.

Now.

Let the sound and sensation take you deeper and deeper relaxed.

More and more limp,

Relaxed and comfortable too.

In fact,

Curiously,

There may be times that your body feels so perfectly,

So pleasantly comfortable,

You may not even be aware of it.

You may not even be aware of your body at all.

So ready.

I'd like you to.

Now.

Let the sound and sensation take you deeper and deeper relaxed.

More and more limp,

Relaxed and comfortable too.

Now.

Slower and slower.

Heavier and heavier.

Deeper.

Deeper relaxed.

Now.

As you continue to drift and to relax,

I want you to know that one of the nice things about these recordings is that in this light,

Relaxed,

Trance state,

You can do anything you wish.

Like in a pleasant dream,

You can drift away any place,

Any situation you desire.

You can experience progressively any kind of pleasant sensation you wish.

They all belong to you.

You can even go back in time.

Back in time to a pleasant memory.

Drift back to something wonderful you haven't thought of in a long,

Long while,

So that once again,

You can enjoy that experience with all the feelings that you had back then.

And.

Now.

As you are there,

Listening to the sound of my voice here,

You'll find that the sound of my voice will help you to relax deeper and deeper as I speak directly now to your unconscious mind about a matter of importance.

Importance to you.

You have now become so deeply relaxed,

So deeply relaxed,

That your mind has become so open,

So receptive to what I'm saying that everything that I suggest to your mind that's recognized to be healthy and positive will sink so deeply into the unconscious part of your mind and cause so deep and lasting a healthy and positive impression there that nothing will eradicate it.

Consequently,

These healthy and positive suggestions that I place in your unconscious mind will begin to have a greater and greater healthy and positive influence over the way you think,

Over the way you feel,

Over the way you behave.

And because these healthy and positive suggestions will remain firmly embedded in the unconscious part of your mind after you've listened to this recording,

After each time that you listen to this recording,

They will continue to offer that same great healthy and positive influence over your thoughts,

Your feelings and your actions just as strongly,

Just as powerfully,

Just as surely when you're at home,

Or at work,

Or out socially,

As when you were here listening to this recording.

You're now so deeply relaxed,

So deeply relaxed that everything that I suggest to your unconscious mind in a healthy and positive way is going to happen to you for your highest good.

And every healthy and positive feeling that I suggest you will experience,

You will experience for your highest good.

And these same healthy and positive experiences will continue to happen to you every day.

And you will continue to experience these same healthy and positive feelings every day,

Just as strongly,

Just as surely,

Just as powerfully when you're at home,

Or at work,

Or out socially,

Just as when you are listening here to this recording.

Curiously,

During and after this recording,

You're going to feel physically stronger and fitter in every way.

You are and will continue to be more alert,

More wide awake,

More energetic.

Every day you're becoming so deeply interested in whatever you're doing,

In whatever's going on around you that your mind will become completely distracted away from yourself.

You no longer think nearly so much about yourself.

You no longer dwell nearly so much upon yourself and any perceived difficulties.

And you're becoming much less conscious of yourself,

Much less preoccupied with yourself and with your feelings.

Every day your nerves are becoming stronger and steadier,

Your mind calmer and clearer,

More composed,

More placid,

More tranquil.

And yet,

When needed,

More focused,

Sharper,

Allowing you to see things from a different angle,

Allowing you to see things in their true perspectives,

Without magnifying any difficulties,

Without ever allowing them to get out of proportion.

Your mind is now able,

Easily and effortlessly,

To put an end to those unneeded,

Unnecessary thoughts.

Those tiresome,

Troublesome,

Repeating thoughts are now dissolving and disappearing naturally,

Allowing you to see things in their true perspective.

This allows you easily and effortlessly to think more clearly,

To see things more clearly,

To give your whole undivided attention to whatever you're doing,

To the complete exclusion of everything else.

Every day you're becoming emotionally much calmer,

Much more settled,

More grounded,

More balanced,

More centered,

More in control.

Every day and in every way,

You are more and more relaxed,

More and more relaxed,

More and more at peace,

Both mentally and physically.

And as you become and as you remain more relaxed and less tense each day,

So you're developing much more confidence in yourself,

More confidence in your ability to do not only what you have to do each day,

But more confidence in your ability to do whatever you ought to be able to do.

Without uneasiness,

Without discomfort,

Without distress,

But instead with focus of mind,

With eloquence of speech,

With mental clarity,

With physical well-being,

With relaxation and calmness,

And with just the perfect amount of adrenaline and positive energy.

Because of this,

Every day you're feeling more and more independent,

More able to stick up for yourself,

To stand on your own two feet,

To hold your own,

To reclaim your power,

To live your life in your own individual healthy and positive way.

Every day you feel a greater sense of personal well-being,

A greater feeling of personal power,

Personal safety,

Personal security.

And because these things are happening exactly as I suggest they will happen,

Because your unconscious mind recognizes them to be healthy and positive suggestions,

You'll feel as if a weight has been lifted,

As if a burden has been lifted from your shoulders.

You're now able to rely upon,

To depend upon yourself,

Your own thoughts,

Your own efforts,

Your own judgment,

Your own intuition,

And your own opinions.

You have patience now,

Calm and relaxed determination.

Nothing can shake it.

You go on patiently day to day and every single day in its own way will be a success.

You very quickly grow accustomed to this wonderful feeling of personal success.

It fills your ego,

Boosting your confidence,

Making it easier for you to conquer other unwanted habits,

Other unwanted thought patterns,

Making it easier for you to conquer life in general,

Boosting your confidence ever more,

In such a way that life becomes easier and more satisfying,

More satisfying to you.

In a few moments we're going to end the session.

You'll hear me slowly and rhythmically count up from 1 to 10.

With each ascending number between 1 and 10,

You become a little bit more aware,

Awake and alert.

At the count of 8,

Gently open your eyes and at the count of 10 you will be fully wide awake.

Every part of you back here,

Every single part back in the room,

In the present,

You're bringing back newfound skills,

Resources,

Abilities,

Newfound habits and thought patterns,

And waking with a deep,

Long-lasting sense of well-being all over.

A peaceful,

Beneficial,

Long-lasting deep sense of well-being.

So ready.

2,

3 waking up,

4,

5,

6 waking up,

7,

8,

Eyes gently open,

Eyes gently open,

9,

10 wide awake,

Wide awake.
