Uplifting Kapha Meditation

A meditation for when you feel a bit stuck or stagnant in your mind and body. This meditation can help pacify the kapha dosha to live in tune with your natural state of being. This meditation can be used anytime or when kapha dosha is most prevalent in the spring season. Kapha dosha in Ayurveda is associated with the earth & water elements. This meditation is great for you if you feel a bit stuck, are feeling like you're motivation is lacking and are grasping.

This is Andrea Claussen here.

And today I'm going to take you through a kapha uplifting meditation.

So when to do this meditation,

If you feel the heaviness of both the luteal phase of your cycle and or the kapha dosha,

Especially in that springtime when energy can feel stuck or stagnant,

Tune into this meditation.

And then you're just going to want to have a journal or a pen handy to use after this meditation.

And then I'm also going to invite you to grab a few crystals.

So if you have a carnelian crystal,

Grab that.

If you are in need of uplifting any dull or heavy agni,

Which is digestion in the body.

If you need a bit more of an awakening energy,

Use a citrine crystal.

And if you don't have a crystal,

Just go outside and find a rock or a stone that really speaks to you.

And because it still has mama earth's beautiful energy inside of it.

Now,

After you have your crystal,

Go ahead and find a comfortable seated position.

Closing your eyes,

Placing your crystal,

Your stone in your right or left hand.

Start to take a few sounding breaths.

Breathing in through the nose and an audible open mouth exhale out through the mouth.

Take that two more times with your own breath.

Next,

Seal the mouth and inhale and exhale only through the nose.

Try and make your exhale twice as long as your inhale.

Breathing in for a count of four,

Exhale for a count of eight.

This is going to help get the body into a more of a parasympathetic state,

The rest and digest state.

So go ahead and continue that breath inhaling for a count of four,

Exhaling for a count of eight.

If you want to try to add on,

Maybe you inhale for a count of five and exhale for a count of 10.

This shouldn't be a struggle,

So finding yourself able to stop if it's too much.

Come back to the four and eight if five and 10 is too much.

Go ahead and do that once more.

Next,

Start to draw your awareness to your low belly.

Start to envision a fire burning at your sacral chakra just below your belly button.

With each breath,

Seeing the flames burn a bit brighter.

Start to notice what color the flames are.

If they jump around and dance,

Or if they're still.

Be aware and observe the flames.

Now start to draw your awareness into your heart space.

Notice if you see any colors there,

Or any shapes.

Take a few moments to observe.

Ask your heart,

What lessons do you need to learn to become more open and able to receive on a deeper level?

Notice if the answers are coming in words or in shapes or colors.

It doesn't need to make sense,

Just witness.

Now start to draw your awareness.

Start to draw your awareness into the spot right between your eyebrows,

Your third eye.

Notice if you see any colors or shapes there.

Then ask yourself,

What do you need to know about your digestive fire?

Start to awaken to your true potential.

Once more,

Just be an observer of what answers start to arise.

Now come back to the flames at your belly.

Are they still burning?

Are they bigger or smaller?

Did they change shape or color?

Notice what thoughts arise.

Are there any actions your fire wants you to take?

Do you have any projects that need your attention?

Do you need to do more work?

Or do you need to rest more?

Tune into your fire and ask,

What do you need today to feel in alignment with your sacral chakra,

Your heart space,

And your intuition?

Observe what comes up.

Start to thank your inner fire,

Your heart space,

And your third eye for showing up for you today.

Bowing your chin in towards your chest.

Slowly blink your eyes open.

And start to write what your inner fire wants you to know and do today.
