Welcome to your meditation.
Make yourself comfortable.
You take a seat or lay yourself down.
Take a big breath in and a sigh release anything you want to let go.
Notice where you can soften,
Release tension,
Release tightness.
This is your time to slow down and reflect on today's theme.
Growth can be uncomfortable and so is staying somewhere you have outgrown.
Notice what comes to mind when you think about where can you grow in your life to allow one door to close and another one to open.
I love how the poet Andrea Gibson describes the journey of a butterfly.
A butterfly trying to find its way out of a cocoon can be difficult to watch because it looks like an immense struggle.
It's common for people to try to peel back the layers of the cocoon to help the butterfly into the air.
But a butterfly's lifespan can be greatly shortened if the exit from the cocoon is in its own doing.
The butterfly struggle is necessary to its chances of thriving.
To become who we are meant to become,
The becoming must be ours.
I'll let these words settle into the mind,
Into the body.
Maybe there was an image that arrived as you envisioned the butterfly.
The butterfly and the necessity of the struggle.
And if we can view the struggle as a part of life instead of as a suffering or a punishment,
It's actually a necessary step of becoming,
Of transitioning.
Both can be uncomfortable and so can staying somewhere you have outgrown.
Continue your meditation reflecting,
Noticing the breath,
Allowing you this time to be quiet and reflect within.
This meditation will end in silence.
Peace and blessings.
