Rise up because you can. Rise for the weary and the hungry and the grieving and the gone. Rise because your lungs breathe and fuel a life to heal and to serve. Rise for our brothers and sisters who stand in the face of fear. Rise up for those who can’t. Rise up because YOU can. I rise up for you. And, when I can’t will you please rise for me? Rise up for those warrior women and men. Rise up to say “thank you” and “Amen.” - Amelia Andaleon

Content... To lie still in the grass and warm sunshine. Letting everything release and flow away...tension, aches, sorrow, worry...all the negative emotions taking up space ooze into the ground. Like all rotting debris, nature will take it to digest and process so that it becomes the nutrients needed to create a beautiful nectar of golden energy. Breathing in the warm, gentle breeze through every pore, filling the vacated space with the prana, life force of each blade of grass, fallen leaf, ray of sunshine. I bask in the love of the universe as it kisses my skin, tickling and tingling the back of my arms, hugging my shoulders, hips and thighs as it holds me. I inhale deeply to fill my lungs to the brim and slowly exhale with a sigh. That's all I need to be content.

I needed to hear this. This is something I have been doing for years within the disability community, as a professional, an advocate, and a member. I have long said I will fight for those who are unable to do so, because I can right now, and because it is important. We deserve to be seen, heard, and respected. I am having a difficult time right now, feeling rather low. Hearing these words and a few other talks just now - they have helped me recommit to my work, my role in the world right now, and both how I interact with others and how I may simply BE. This reminder was so very necessary and appreciated. Thank you so much for sharing it here with our Insight Timer community. I see you and the light within you. Be well. 🤲🏻❤🤲🏻 (For me personally, the "Amen" at the end slightly diminished the power of the piece, but I have been working very hard over the years to move beyond the faith-based trauma that this and other reminders tends to trigger in me, and remind myself of its original linguistic roots. That helps. ☮)
