Welcome to this magical cat meditation.
I invite you to make yourself comfortable.
You can sit up,
Lie down,
Stretch,
Allow yourself to move however you need in order to make your body as comfortable as possible.
You can close your eyes or have a soft gaze or find a focal point.
With this meditation you'll be able to move as you wish or be still.
Let's count down.
Ten,
Nine,
Eight,
Seven,
Six,
Five,
Four,
Three,
Two,
One.
Find yourself as a cat.
Notice your own fur or lack thereof.
Notice the colors,
The patterns.
Become aware of where your whiskers are,
What your ears are sensing.
See if you feel the need to shift your body.
Maybe take one of those long invigorating stretches that cats like to take.
Maybe you can roll onto your back,
Pull your knees into your chest and twist your lower body from side to side.
If you're sitting up,
You can twist your upper body,
Reaching up,
Twisting to each side.
Then your imaginary cat is able to explore its surroundings.
It's going to notice walking across the floor at a different level,
Seeing what's around,
Utilizing those advanced senses that cats have.
Let's explore further.
Go down some stairs.
Find your way to a door that opens for you.
You can pause at the door and when you determine it's safe,
Walk through.
You'll find yourself on some comfortable grass.
Maybe there are some fun little insects like moths or butterflies around.
Notice that there might be sounds in the distance or perhaps birds close to you.
They get your attention.
You look over,
See the different songbirds and they tell you that there's a path nearby.
You follow a bird and it leads you to a beautiful sandy path.
The ground below you is soft and comfortable to walk on.
Then you come to the edge of the woods.
Here's where you are surrounded by trees of all sizes.
What's one of your favorite things to do?
Maybe you can reach your arms up and stretch against one of those trees.
Smell the bark.
Smell around the base of the tree.
Noticing the scent of the earth and as you walk along a trail you detect other creatures.
Some chipmunks and squirrels.
Maybe there's a rabbit right in front of you.
You notice each other and the rabbit hops to safety away from you.
You see that there are logs from trees that have fallen over.
You hop up.
It gives you a better view of your surroundings.
Now you can look down and see things from a different perspective.
Can you hear anything different from this area?
Is there a break in the foliage so you can see the clouds in the sky?
When you look down do you see the forest floor?
What season is it?
How does that affect what you're observing?
Enjoy this bit of forest bathing as you watch leaves and berries gently swaying.
Some wildflowers are sprouting in random places.
The only sounds you hear are ones that are soothing.
Your breath is comfortable and smooth.
You found a place that makes you feel perfectly safe and welcome.
It's a special magical place that offers serenity.
While you're up on one of these logs maybe you want to explore a little bit.
Taking a few steps with confidence.
See where this journey takes you.
When you're ready to return all you have to do is reverse yourself from how you got there.
Finding your way down the logs back to the trail onto the sandy path into the grass.
You find your way at the door that opens only for you and you can choose to go inside and start a new adventure there or stay where you are.
If you're ready to come back to your physical self in the real world,
Turn your head from side to side,
Wiggle your fingers,
Wiggle your toes and take it another stretch.
Allowing the light to come into your eyes and feeling like you've experienced the magic of this journey.
