Hello,
My name is Amber Love and welcome to this meditation on freedom.
Today we will be focusing on freedom and the Vasudeha Chakra,
The throat center where we have our energy for expression.
Find yourself sitting in a comfortable place where you're not likely to be disturbed.
You may find that it's comfortable to be semi-reclining as long as your head is propped comfortably.
We want to aim to have a neutral spine.
If you can sit up tall for this entire practice,
That would be beneficial to help open up all of the chakras through the central channel.
I invite you to close your eyes or have a soft gaze.
We'll start by finding contact with our breath and our body.
So notice where your breath is going without any judgment.
See if you're feeling it only in your head or if you are a breather into the chest or if you're belly breathing.
Just notice where it is first.
Now I'd like to invite you to deepen that breath so that you can feel it going all the way down towards the belly as low as possible,
Filling it up like fireplace bellows,
Getting nice and big and enjoying the fullness,
The roundness that the breath creates.
When you exhale,
Exhale fully.
On your next inhale,
Allow yourself to reserve some of that breath.
Fill up the belly first and then fill up the chest.
Feel how your ribs expand out all four sides,
The front,
The back,
The left and the right.
We have breathing muscles that move all the way through our whole core from our collar bones all the way down to our pelvis.
Enjoy that two-part breath another time.
Again without judgment.
If you're not getting the hang of it,
That's okay,
It takes practice.
Now I'd like to invite you to inhale down towards to the belly and fill up the chest and save that last bit for up around the throat and the head.
Now that you've made a connection with your breath,
I'd invite you to picture the color blue.
If colors don't work for you,
I don't want you to worry.
There are alternatives.
Perhaps you know music well and you know what the sound of a G note is like or the vibration of the mantra,
Hum.
That's the Bija mantra for this chakra center.
Hum.
So whichever version of energy and vibrations you would like to choose,
Use what's best for you and feel it going through your entire body,
Reaching all the way down to your feet,
Filling up the legs,
Filling up your torso down each arm to the fingers and swirling around the head.
And then imagine that vibration being so strong,
There are no boundaries at all.
Pure freedom,
Energy that simply moves between the cells.
It can permeate out your skin,
Maybe out your hair,
Whatever imagery works for you.
And allow that energy its freedom.
And I'd invite you to start thinking about what freedom can mean for you and how it can be utilized in many ways.
Allow your shoulders to feel softer,
Giving into gravity,
Freedom from what weighs you down.
Can you find the sense of wings,
Freedom from gravity,
Freedom from things that are earthly or materialistic?
Can you find freedom from what no longer serves you?
Can you allow yourself to soar with these great big beautiful strong wings,
Flying away,
Finding freedom from past mistakes that you don't need in order to carry yourself forward?
Freedom to be you as you feel yourself as a whole being,
Without expectations from other people,
Without roles that you feel you have to play.
Can you find freedom to try new things?
Can you find freedom to return to things that you once loved and felt like they were taken from you?
Embracing this sense of weightlessness and safety as if you were in your own energetic bubble where there's no harm that can come to you.
You may use the mantra,
The Bhaja sound,
Hum,
Or even the word Vashuddha,
The word that we use for our throat center.
It's a beautiful sound.
You can combine other sounds that you know.
Om,
Hum.
If you are in a place where you can make those sounds verbally and audibly,
Do that.
It's actually different to make the sounds than to hear them inside your head.
If that's your only option,
Then that is fine.
But to actually make the sound creates the vibrations.
You feel it traveling through our bodies.
We're mostly made of water,
So imagine that sound reverberating.
Again,
No boundaries,
No borders.
When you feel ready to start coming back to your physical self after you've enjoyed your freedom,
Take that freedom with you,
Package it up in some way,
Find a way to have freedom of expressing who you are.
Allow that radiant energy to come back to your body.
Let it find its way back to your throat center and start making some small movements with your breath.
Maybe you'll make fists opening and closing your hands as you inhale and exhale and sink.
When you're ready,
You can start to slowly allow the light to come in your eyes,
Coming back to the present.
I hope you've had a wonderful journey exploring your freedom.
Namaste.
