Episode 55 End of year reflection,
Tending to the garden of life Hi and welcome to this end of year reflection meditation.
Go ahead and take a comfortable seat.
Allow yourself a moment to settle in,
Letting the sit bones rest deep down into the earth.
Then as you inhale,
Feel the belly and the lungs with oxygen.
Then on your exhale,
Let your entire body relax,
Surrendering to this very moment.
Loosen the shoulders,
Unclench the jaw and relax those cheeks.
Then soften your awareness,
Letting it rest on the breath.
I got inspired to write this meditation as at the time of recording,
It is only two months until the end of this year,
Which caught me a little bit by surprise as due to the lockdown,
I'd been living in a bit of a time freeze where hours blend into days,
Into weeks,
Into months,
Barely realizing where we actually are.
So now that the end of this challenging year is almost behind us,
We can look forward to a brand new year,
Which is so exciting as before us,
We have a blank slate and a whole new 12 months to be filled with excitement and strong intentions for the year ahead.
Was the last year better than you had planned?
Great,
But what if it turned out otherwise?
If you go into the new year with a bad outlook on the last year,
Your potential to make meaningful progress is slim.
Every experience and every moment we face is a lesson and a lesson will keep presenting itself to you until you commit and finally take a stab at it.
So take some time now to ponder the year that was.
Go ahead and imagine that you have a blank piece of paper before you.
Now I want you to imagine that you are drawing down flowers on this piece of paper and for each flower you write down all the good stuff that happened in the last year.
Anything from achieving a certain goal to refraining from doing something that wasn't good for you or perhaps you've reached a new personal best.
Whatever it was,
Take a few moments here to write down all the things that you have loved of the last year.
And west to west is where it works.
You You You Good Now go ahead and write down all the weeds that you're going to pull out of your garden of life Writing down everything that you would rather leave out of the last 12 months Noting all the things you would rather not take with you in the year ahead You You Now finally as you are tending to your garden of life I Want you to write down the fertilizer?
Focusing on what you could add or improve in your life to make it even better You You Great I Hope these questions helped you consider What was really great?
What you could have done without and what you want to see more of in the new year Thank you for listening.
Have a wonderful day and have a great year ahead
